I have a 993.7 metre headshot and ranked 21,450, you couldn't be ranked in the top two hundred! unless in the past three months 21,000 have gotten better shots than you! Maybe on console? But not world wide cross platform!

Not to bad, and as for Bismarck194188 yes, 1000m+ is very possable with the right rifle, I scored a 1081m headshot the other day on Wake Island with a M98, the .338 Mag round is an amazing round in the game and real life, granted I wish the game was a little more accurate with bullet damage, as if you if someone with a .338 mag, odds are they are not coming back up, I think the longest killshots (2) in the world was with a .338 Lapua by a British Sniper in the Afgan area at 2478m or 1.54miles!

@devilsown96, no i think its a canadian still.... the most kills with a sniper rifle is a finnish man named Simo Häyhä using a Sako without a sight. Finland is the best. :)) SUOMI!!

HINES can you pls make a sniper tutorial ??? i play as a sniper in BF3 and im fairly good on normal ranges,,, but i dont know what all those things mean when you scope and how to aim at far ranges or moving targets.

@Exendrallio moving targets are very difficult at long range because the drop and lead change at the same time...a stationary target is a bit easier...since bf3 doesnt have any sort of range finder its hard to know how much rise to give a target...the trick i use is i take one shot at the area that im covering look where the round hits in my scope and thats where i put my target for the next shot

@jappanpreeti The "Marksman" points you get (if headshot) is equal to the distance in meters. Other than that it's in your stats on Battlelog.

@HinesGaming You know, I've noticed the bullet drop is affected by the type of scope, not the gun, with the IRNV there's no bullet drop at all, you can snipe from a very long range without any bullet drop

just a little tip for you guys wondering how much adjustment you have to do from distance ... The first cross on the scope you will use it for 0-50 meters shots, second cross is for exactly 300 meters and trust me i tried it second cross is for about 600 meters , since there is no range finder equipment or tool i have a certain technique to find out the distance its not accurate but it does quite well although it works mostly in conquest , you have numbers in each flag telling you the distance

@HinesGaming that much? i cannot believe the LOD is that dramatic, i don't think it's supposed to look like that. you should look into your shader options in the Nvidia or AMD forums. i don't believe it's supposed to stutter the bumb mappers and shaders like that on Ultra. my GTX 260 barely plays the Low, but at least i know my own GPU is bugged from the start (bad memory setup) so i'm kinda used to seeing artifacts all the time.

Seems almost too good to be true. I always have a hard time 1 shotting with snipers. Just how do you know the EXACT way to sight and compensate for gravity 99% of the time no matter the distance?

@Requiredghr18 you can memorize the distance by shooting at people near objectives that show their range from you and paying attention to where the bullets land, or you can just eyeball it and correct your mistakes as you go.

@Requiredghr18 mostly you have to try a couple of shots, see where the bullet lands and then try to translate that into where the actual head of the enemy is. It is a lot of luck.
