behind all of them is iGenious.

  • His acumen is unreal. At 19:30 you can see that he was not merely some idealistic visionary, but a master businessman. His time away from Apple, with NextStep and Pixar, sharpened him considerably.

  • iMac iPod iPhone iPad iBook iTunes iWork iMovie iSync iWorks iBooks iSwitch iTouch iThink thats all
  • q antigüedad apenas estaba naciendo

  • He still has patches on his jeans.

  • This guy was using the cloud more than a decade before it went on the market, and it looked like he just came up with the smartphone off the top of his head there! And what do ya know; Apple did get to the best hardware and software on the market.

  • ‎"I'm sure a lot of you have had this expirience where you're changing, you're growing as a person, and people tend to treat you like you where 18 months ago. And its really frustrating sometimes, when you're growing up and becoming more capable, and you've solved some personality quirks, people treat you like you where a year to 18 months ago, it can be very frustrating." - I can totally relate to this.

  • wow, you dont see presentations like this anymore. Steve jobs here is ruthless, determined, focused and hers really not messing around. amazing!

  • go ahead and read his bio. Watching this video might be interesting but it may create a lot of questions which reasons lay waaay back. (e.g. what happends during his "hiatus")

  • lmao, "I don't want a little scribble thing" referring to the newton.

  • @ 103.28 didnt he just invent the keyboard on a cellphone?? hence iphone! thats just me.

  • i only have a vague understanding of some of these things their talking about and i couldnt stop watching it. steve is very tactful, effective at explaining his words. so awsome to hear him. hes prety much mezmorizing. very interesting stuff.

  • Okay, here is the thing

Steve Always Stay Cool in his Jeans & Black Shirt :)

I Love it, Simply Simple and Great

  • this guy is talking crazy talk.

  • @elitemathlete fuck you...

  • I'm in Love with Steve Jobs :)

  • I love watching as Steve and some audience members foretell the future for about 45 minutes, then at 50:22 some arrogant jerk stands up and spews bile at Steve...

Steve just died a billionaire with immense influence, running a company worth billions, possibly the most valuable in the world - where is that other jerk today?

    Yeah, I thought so.

  • This is history, this will inspire people for many many years to come. I love to watch all this old videos from Steve. Unbelievable how weak Apple was in that days and what than happened when Steve came back. This will be forever one of the greatest turnarounds in industrial history, even greater than Porsche with Wiedeking in 1993 and Volkswagen with Piëch also in 1993.

  • This is worth remembering when you go through hard times and to try to see how you can come out well at the end. Just keep going, one foot in front of the other and at some point you will be able to look back and see where there was something that happened that was good. As Steve said, you can only connect the dots in hindsight.

  • Steve Jobs and Winston Churchill followed many parallel paths in life and shared many traits. Both spent an extended time when they were thrown out and had time to reflect on their mistakes, to see things from the outside and to think about how they would do things differently when they had the chance again. In both cases the early failure was an essential part of the eventual success both men achieved.

  • This is a moment in history when Steve Jobs had come back to Apple as an advisor to Gil Amelio and before the boardroom coup where Jobs took over. With the wisdom of hindsight we can all now understand the impact of the man and his vision for where things should go, but it's all here in 1997 where he essentially describes the iPhone, iPad, iCloud and many other things that are now reality.

  • Apple almost bankrupt at the time. Apple bought NeXT. Steve Jobs becomes advisor, Amelio was still the CEO. Board of directors, fires Amelio. Jobs becomes CEO. They include NeXTSTEP into their OS. Apple is back up. Conclusion, NeXT, saves apple, not Bill Gates.

  • at around 1:04:00 he's actually pretty much describing an iPhone and he's saying how much he would love to have one. This really proves that at Apple they make products that they would want for themselves...

  • at around 0:16:00 he is more or less talking about iCloud.

  • This guy must have been the smartest and most articulate CEO ever. When seeing this, I start imagining that Jobs could actually persuade all those music companies, telecom network providers, content provides etc. by just...you know...having a chat with them! :P

  • What song is playing right at the beginning?

  • @zx1701 It is Friend of the Devil, by the Grateful Dead :)

  • This video is gold

  • "Go out and buy some shares" -Best advice ever

  • 1997 WWDC pretty cool little piece of history.

  • at 27 minutes - Jobs made it clear he is boss :)

  • At 18 minutes, Steve invents cloud.

  • @ablig indeed he did :)

  • @ablig lol

    you're a moron

cloud computing is something that has been there from the very beginning of networking

actually the first computers are all cloud-based (workstations, mainframes)

and steve basically stole all those ideas from xerox anyway

  • Thanks so much for this up :D R.I.P. Steve

  • Screw bill he's a jocker! Steve is the shit!

  • @theanthony345 Why would you say that you ignorant cunt.

  • @tzlawina because if you would look into both microsoft and apple you would see that microsoft copied apple.

  • It is magical when Steve Jobs is not a software engineer and yet he was addressing the developers. He is simply genius.

  • Cool pants Steve.

  • I get tired of at @43:16 I admire Jobs for the abilities to talk with absolutely boring nerds

  • Wow, Apple was already talking about cloud computing in the 90s. I didn't even know it existed until 2009

  • So he spoke of everything current like forever ago. wow.

  • 240p...we meet again.

  • I started with an apple 2 and the macintosh was unbelieveable, all these years later I have a macbook. It`s the best!!!!! Steve Jobs was smart to make Apple more compatible with other platforms or Apple would have died.

  • so..he actually have already spoke of iphone at 1997 eh..

  • ..and apple's stock price now had grew 7000%.. from backthen..

  • I just realized, the best thing I like about him - he doesn't treat ANY of his questioners with the attitude - "I know more than you, so STFU" - which most senior management do.

As said - "Do the world a favour and start each conversation with the presumption that the other person is just as smart as you…"

  • imu steve. a lot

  • Mr. Steve Mensch Jobs at his best: luckily we shared the same planet for a while.

  • @CusterFlux Mensch?

  • ipod

    iphone

    ipad

    imac

    imisssteve

  • @super50cent4life

icrap products ... that are NOTHING NEW on market. Only in nice package

  • One awesome idea after another, there's no abortion pill for this train of thought.

  • I love to see Steve Fat and Healthy.

  • love those jeans

  • So entertaining when after a question he is like pausing and really compiling his answer to be somehow as quotable as possible : )

  • I absolutely love watching Steve talk.

    More soothing than bedtime stories.

  • Holly shit...I'm watching this as if it's a motivational seminar ......

  • this is what it takes to be a great CEO. knowing where you're company is, knowing where it needs to go, and knowing how to get it there., and knowing how to get it there.

  • The best steve jobs

  • He said it. He meant it. And it happened. Thanks Steve.

  • hes in iCloud hopefully by now

  • RIP Steve Jobs....

  • Steve R.I.P.

  • 1:03:15... And 10 years later.. iPhone comes out... this guy is scary.. like einstein said "imagination better than knowledge".. Steve's imagination is beyond amazing...

  • This brings me right back to the excitement.

The last few minutes, where he's talking about the Newton is so instructive in hindsight. God, I love this Man. What a great ride its been.

  • RIP, Steve Jobs.

  • R.I.P, it wasn't till he's gone that I truly realise how much his presence meant

  • I'm missing you next EinsteinEdison :'(

  • 14 years later, I'm watching this as it streams over the internet, on my MacBook Air. Steve, I will see what you dreamed of today, in a few years. And then the rest of the world will see it in 10 years. Hopefully, that is enough lead time to get everyone else in gear to do some innovative thinking.

  • Back than he saw iCloud

  • R.I.P. Steve...

  • The best there is. RIP Steve. You will be missed.

  • 3 Apples changed the World, 1st one seduced Eve, 2nd fell on Newton and the 3rd was offered to the World half bitten by Steve Jobs.

  • 'You've gotta start with the customer experience and work backwards to the technology' 52.00 . UX hero

  • This is a tech conference - but he touches on personal growth (one foot in front of the other), focus (saying no to opendoc) honesty (apple's had it's head in the sand), the big picture (do great stuff, and the share price will look after itself). LEGEND, VISIONARY, RIP Steve.

  • R.I.P Steve Jobs

  • Man, he revealed or envisioned iCloud back in 97'. RIP Jobsy, you will be missed!

  • goodnight sweet prince

  • I only watched this video in 240P to hear this mans predictions of things that came to pass

  • Now that I watch this..... Truly Rest In Peace, no jokes Steve :( October 5th, 2011

  • @StevenLou1010 amen bro....!

  • Man...... A person like this is so rare. He had all his priorities straight, didn't only talk about his goals but acted on it and he left the world a better place. Extremely inspiring.

  • so sad rip.

  • In 30 years he went from looking almost like a college student to looking like a very old man. All the money in the world can't buy back your health. This was a truly visionary man and he will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.

  • Legend!

  • His clone comments are weird... total 180 from today's Apple. I guess even geniuses get it wrong sometimes.

  • bill gates and steve ballmer are the 2 who dislike this video!

  • The answear on the questions on 28.11 and 50.24 is the highlights in this video!!!

  • david crapwall!

  • Ron Paul/Steve Jobs 2012!

  • I'd like to hear his visions for the world in 2025

  • Wow. At about 16 minutes in he is talking about his vision of what iCloud would be come. He has been working toward this all along.

  • I have one word for him "Visionary"

  • I fucking admire this dude

  • @angelusp777 So do I!

  • @superapple4ever Si do WE! I'm fucking sad that he passed away... :(

  • @angelusp777 same goes for me!

  • I think we know who needs to run for PRESIDENT..

  • @hardcorezombi He would be the best president the US could have.

  • @superapple4ever The only problem is that, for some reason, people like him never become presidents.

  • @darthirakli I know, It's to bad.

  • @superapple4ever and now hes dead :'(

  • @hardcorezombi u mean dictator

  • @johnbonham6 Him as dictator? I'll take it!

  • @hardcorezombi He would've done well as a dictator. I heard he was like that against his employees.

  • this is crazy inspiring - to see someone layout a vison, believe in it and then execute

  • @nschwartz1 I know, I wonder what that guy that said "you don't know what your taking about" is thinking now.

  • gotta wonder that coughing...hmmmm

  • @RONALDB62 He was sick, it sucks that he is again.

  • Wow he said it, and now almost 14 years later we have the icloud. Even the small little things with keyboards connected to internet, we now have the smartphones. A legend he is.

  • @pravinpatil411 I know, I think he had it all planed out he just had to weight for the tech. to become available.

  • @pravinpatil411 Yes, I don't know any one elce that can make up a plane, stick to it & make it a relalty.

  • 1:02:50 Steve Jobs discovers the iPhone. "some little thing with a keyboard connected to the net!"

  • @runningbeagle1 I know I still can't get over how he talked about all of this in 97 and we have most of it now!
