Brilliant Idea.. I'm a resident of the Inland Empire and am saddened of how so many people FEAR firearms in the public.. I love California too much to move, I rather stand and fight for OUR rights.. keep the videos coming.. thanks for ur support.
Use a MicroVault that has both a rounded key on top and a 4-button electronic lock. You can get them for $100, and if it's too heavy to carry, you could scavenge the mechanism to install in a lighter plastic case.
That, or use a rounded key, or a lock that uses double sided keys with an identical pin on each side, then make yourself the equivalent of a mag-well for the key so you can do it without looking.
Please post a video on what you used to build that as I can see tons of people finding that setup great. Also, for concealed carry, dont you have to be transporting the weapon only to a firing range and back home or is that applied to only vehicle concealed carry and not on your actual persons?
Great video. If it can be in a locked container on your car, I believe it could be in a locked container on your persons. How fucking hilarious would it be if Anthony Portantino got shot on "Main street" California the day after the ban. I guarantee he wont be in public for a good few months.
@jaker277 False. Since they are not a part of the gun, you can have them loose in your pocket. OR, you can have them in the same case as long as the firearm is unloaded in that case... but who's checking if it's locked in a case? Criminals carry loaded concealed in their waistband all day long.
@foesdhs A magazine is an integral part of the gun that requires it. And since having this part of the gun concealed in your pocket you would be guilty of carrying a concealed weapon. You can carry the bullets loose in your pocket. The only way around this is if you had an emtpy mag in the gun. Then the gun would be complete and the extra magazine could be carried anywhere. This is the law in Cali. You can look it up.
@jaker277 I would encourage YOU to look it up. It is not the law, It's FUD primarily spread by people who work in gun stores who are ignorant of the law.
@jaker277 I would love for you to cite the PC that you claim says that carrying a loaded magazine at the same time a gun with no magazine in the magazine well is akin to carrying a loaded weapon concealed. I recommend you study up on the People Vs. Clark and then rethink the legal advice you give.
@jaker277 That enhancement is only tripped in the following special cases: Violation of 12025 when either A) A convicted felon B) The gun is stolen C) The person is a participant of a gang D) The person is not in lawful possession of the gun E) The person was convicted of a crime against person or property or drug violation F) The person is not listed with the with DOJ as the registered owner of the gun.
Law abiding citizens legally transporting lawfully owned guns are not affected by this.
@jaker277 You do not know what you are talking about, we have been stopped several times with empty mag in the gun and no mag with no trouble. And what about revolvers? No magazine. You are speeding misinformation but something tells me that is your intent.
@hapkidoglock you are flipped on the topic. we are discussing loaded magazine. Revolvers you can carry rounds in your pocket (like I do) because bullets are not integral part of the pistol.
I've been pondering this idea myself; but had negative advice from the calguns community (saying it was still considered open carry). I hope you have the balls to try this out and hopefully prove otherwise ( if you ever find yourself in court). Good luck brother.
@elbimmer The Calguns people are pretentious pricks. I have the same case that this person has attached to his waist for his pistol, but the advertising for the case was for jewelry.
You also do no have to actually have the mags on your hip, you can even have them in your pocket. (as they are not a part of the gun)
Officer: What do you have in the case?
You: None of your business.
Officer: Please unlock the case.
You: I do not consent to search. Am I being detained? No? Bye bye. Walk away...
I feel your pain man. California government sucks ass. My suggestion would be move to the great state of Kentucky. Where your rights are state constitutionally protected. I proudly open carry every day and not one time have I been hassled by the man.
One possible flaw I see is, if having loaded magazines in your pocket counts as concealing a weapon, does having them exposed on your hip count as open carrying a weapon, which is imminently banned?
@adamonline45 Being that mags/bullets/shells are not a part of the gun (until you actually put them in the firearm)... you can even have them loose in your pocket.
Nice ingenuity, but you will probably still get arrested, just FYI. We have a similar law in IL - unloaded enclosed in a case. It doesn't need to be locked though. A friend of mine modified a holster to fully enclose the firearm and was arrested. Eventually the charges were dropped, but he was out a lot of time, money, and a nice XD for his troubles.
coulden't this be considered concealed carrying? Although as long as they don't search you without your consent you should be fine, but what about probable cause because of the magazines on the other side?
@houndeye That is absolutely not Concealed Carrying. If it is concealed, it is to be in a locked container... if you're a law abiding citizen and not some who disregards the law. An example of CC would be in your pocket/waistband/handbag-- somewhere the government isn't already looking. If you come across "friendly" criminals... they'll scoff at how the law doesn't pertain to them. The government seeks only to regulate law abiding citizens.

They also have a variant with a fingerprint/biometric lock, but those are ultra-spendy.

26389. Section 26350 does not apply to, or affect, the carrying
of an unloaded handgun if the handgun is carried either in the locked
trunk of a motor vehicle or in a locked container.

oh yeah you need to have the magazine in a locked container too. Different from the gun. And a pushbutton lock would be ideal.

@danieltjester 12025(b)(6)(A) is a sentence enhancement which applies if one violates 12025 (carrying concealed).

The mere carrying of ammunition is not breaking any laws, therefore creating NO probably cause or reasonable suspicion to search.
