  • For 40k why not get the 5.0 mustang gt instead?

  • '

    no thank,,,

i dont like ford design on the body

  • @austinman1995 What in my comment asked about your area and the cars driven there? And i never said you can get a 25k car with all the bells and whistles. Not new at least. But for $40k im looking into a cadillac, lexus, mercedes, bmw etc. Not a ford. Granted its a nice car and all. but your paying for that engine. not the extras that can always be added to a damn base model car. Which is why i commented on the price of the car

  • if this comes in a 5 or 6 speed this would be one badass car

  • Does this come with manual transmission?

  • Take any 20k-25k car you like, get it in a V6, spend maybe an average of 5k to turbocharge it. You STILL have a cheaper and possibly more powerful car than the taurus SHO... Probably lighter too. That SHO is awesome and id love to have one but for $40k?!?!?!?!?!? I can think of a lot better cars to buy for $40k

  • Considering this is a 4000LB plus pig, it'll need all the help it can get.

BTW...put a Turbine engine in a Yugo, and it might do 0-60 in 3 seconds...but it's still a piece of crap

  • Yessssss SHO livessss love those cars dont hate people

  • infiniti g37 sedan .. no turbo .. no 4wd = better performance and a lot better responsive than this SHO

  • By what, .1 sec? and .07 more G's on the skid pad... That's so minuscule its not even noticeable while driving.

  • @LiquidFrost it's not about numbers.

it's about how it deal with the driver.

the Ford is kind of softer and slower response compered to the G37.

the good point in this ford..it's comfortable and softer than G37.

so.. why SHO if there is no enough serios performance?

  • It has great power but not for that size of car and only has an auto trans what the fuck is with that. When the first SHO came out they were fun and did not cost you $40,000.

  • and they were ALL 5-speed, ALL of the first ones.

  • Actually, the first SHO was priced at just over $24,000, which is just under $39,000 when you adjust for inflation. And that was for a much smaller car, with less amenities.

  • You cannot compare the 2010 SHO to the ones before it, the 2010 is a whole lot more car. not only faster and AWD, but go drive one, they drive even better than cars twice their price! If this is where the American car is headed, the Japanese cars are in for a major battle! Kudos to Ford!

  • does anyone know the name of that song? ive been trying to find it

    plz help

  • now i feel like an idiot, shouldve done some research first i didnt know they were all wheel drive

  • tell me blueskysii, what would a better rear end final drive have anything to do with a front wheel drive vehicle? i think these things are pretty cool, i wouldnt buy one but theyre cool

  • Not bad for a ford but the quality, fit and finish is still ford. They should of put it in the mustang so mabey it could keep up with other cars!

  • They do not call it Ford SHO for nothing, is because ford sho your going to be stuck on the side of the road!

  • mabey because theres so much power you spun the tires and lost control crashing into the ditch

  • An over priced Ford POS! for 40k I rather buy a Lexus IS350 that would kick the crap out of this Ford and with all the luxuries in the world.

  • Lets see that IS350 kick the crap out of a CTS-V, or an M5. Shut up you fucking idiot. You're just another jealous fucking fag on here that doesn't own a damn thing, and gotta bust my balls for buying a SHO. Maybe I'll spit out the window at you as I pass by, cause you're probably walking.

Bunch of wet pants, jealous fucking idiots, I'm done with this thread. You can't debate a damn thing, your e-penis has to get involved at every turn. Go get a fucking job. Or better an education.

  • haha...I'm not sure if your are spitting at me or xxig, but it IS entertaining nonetheless. So I guess you didn't reflash you SHO to get better performance, but even if you did, I wouldn't want you to admit it here. How embarrassing to admit you fell for Ford's gull-ability-car-of-the -year.

And to top it off, you didn't even order the $995 performance pack that would have given you a better steering ratio, better (but still lame) brakes, and a better rear end gear...at least you didn't pay $40K

  • It appears that your the one that does not know how to debate without going crazy. I think the one that needs an education is you, apparently you do not know how to tell the difference between a $40k car and a $100k car. To be honest I rather hang my self than to be jealous of a moron that just bought a Ford Taurus. Your right about one thing though, I will be passing you by, walking, since your going to be stuck on the side of the road in your SHO pretty soon.

  • What's wrong with you? Where in the world did all this come from? Talk all you want, like I need education? I have my masters in computer science, and I'm a pilot, I go after the things I love, simple as that. Only a place like this will people frown on a person like that.

Regardless, the SHO isn't the only damn car I own, have you even clicked my name, and looked at the MANY links on the left pane to my other cars? The "SHO" is merely our family car.

Talk all you want, it's all talk.

  • i have a 2001 taurus with a duratec engine in it and i love it, it just turned 80k in miles on it last week and i cant wait to get my hands on this baby

  • Bucket. Just like all the SHO of the past. High hopes of performance but in the end just another heavy so so sedan that even with 2 turbos cant keep up with the other brands. Maybe 2011 will be its year.

  • read the article by Christian Jensen for the New York Times. He says exactly the same this....Ford has revamped this platform 3 times now, and each time they make critical mistakes, either in the design or in the marketing of this ride...They spent who know how much money in the first 6 months getting everyones juices flowing that this car was gonna ROCk....hell, even their own youtube videos prove this car actually doesn't do a legit 0-60 in under 6 sec...sad really...

  • @blueskysiii Revamped? This platform has been the same since 1999.

  • Old SHO's were never considered "heavy". They feel heavy because of inadequate handling, but considering that a 1989 SHO weighs the same as a Fox body Mustang means they are in no way considered "heavy".

Ford should have stuck with Yamaha, but in this economy, its just smarter to have an engine with a much broader base. SHO engines were only in SHO's, that's why they were killed off in the first place.

  • what does the 2010 Taurus SHO have in common with marijuana?.

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

They both get smoked at lights!

    .

    .

  • more like they smoke you first

  • lol

  • Come up with that all on your own did ya? I don't get it, why do you troll all of the SHO video's and put the car down? Did one of the engineers behind the new SHO butt rape you? Why in the world would you troll SHO videos?

  • It makes no sense to say that blueskyiii. It's not even a sports car, just a great performing sport sedan. And you only say what you say because of some kind of bias, they run a best of 13.7 in the 1/4 mile, that's pretty awesome, 6 speed auto, all wheel drive.

Get off my dick, you're so jealous of anyone with a SHO, or just hateful and envious of everyone with a car?

I don't know what else to say, I blocked you because you're insane.

Anyways, I'll think of you when I fire up my SHO blueski

  • Okay, I'll agree with you that this is not even a sports car. end of discussion.

  • 13.7 isn't fast for today. The new SHO is not a SHO in my opinion. It does not stay true to the nature of a SHO. It isn't a sleeper in any sense, because even the standard Taurus has plenty of power to surprise some people. Hell, a stock Camry these days is more of a sleeper than a Taurus.

Ford keeps telling everyone about the SHO, that alone ruins the sleeper aspect of it...oh and the flashy body doesn't help either.

  • You obviously don't know anything about the 12S package which I have on mine, and it wasn't expensive. It is a SHO, it's the best SHO ever, all wheel drive, Twin Turbo 3.5 from "FORD", not "Yamaha", so parts are American and cheaper. 20" wheels wearing Eagle F1 supercar tires, stock. Far superior suspension.

It's not a sleeper? Look at it, 99% of ppl would have no clue at a stoplight what that car was capable of.

You want them to make the car ugly, to enhance the sleeper aspect? WOW...

  • I don't know anything, right.

Best SHO ever? Eh no. A part time AWD system that fails after 400lbs of tq. An all aluminum engine with NO forged internals, I can't wait until people try to turn up the boost on those small turbos. They are strung out so much as it is.

I'll keep my Yamaha thanks. Forged internals from the factory, unbreakable engines, more HP per liter N/A (as compared to the 3.5n/a). Oh and my engine bay actually looks good.

  • The new SHO should have been put in the Fusion, and have a manual option. But Ford is too busy catering to fools like you who drink from the koolaid.

So when you pull up next to my primer/bondo 88 Thunderbird, you're going to get a lesson on Sleeper cars.

My car may look like a POS, but it IS a sleeper, some brand NEW over hyped boat is not a sleeper. Moron, go drive a real SHO.

  • You're an idiot, I didn't buy my new SHO, with the 12S package for the sole purpose of "having a sleeper". IT'S OUR NEW FAMILY CAR!. I have my 2004 Cobra Terminator for my fun, and my two Euro's, peep my channel for pics and video's on everything, and leave me alone.

What the hell is wrong with some people, you want me to make my decision on a car based on "sleeper" appeal, it's a 43k car man, are you nuts? It's meant to keep the family safe, and be fun for me when I drive, get it???

  • You're missing the point, the entire point I was making. I'm not telling you to NOT buy a fuckign car.

I'm trying to explain to you that this is NO SHO. It is NOT a SHO, and to a true enthusiast, this car is not what we wanted.

The fact that shoforum pushed for this car only proves why it sucks to much.

  • Okay okay, calm please. I did miss your point. But I disagree, I believe this to be the best SHO ever. (And I had a '94, green, with a Powerdyne supercharger, soo much fun beating pony cars, from a roll anyways)

You can't compare this new SHO to the first and second generation SHO's. This thing is FAR more powerful, better for the environment, best of all, it's all wheel drive! I mean, nav display, great audio, awesome interior, fast as hell. The 6 speed auto is great, you gotta drive one...

  • I honestly prefer the fantastic 6 speed auto in this new SHO over the WEAK 5 speed manuals in the older SHO's. And you can't even compare I mean, all wheel drive, 40% more power...there's nothing to compare. Sure, I love the 2nd gen SHO's, they were great for what they were, but sorry, I love technology, and I love the new SHO. Twin Turbo, All Wheel Drive!!! Large Nav display, Microsoft Sync, SAFETY!!

Also, keep in mind I have the 12S package!!

But, it's not the sleeper it once was, okay?

  • "Parts are American and cheaper"?...What decade are you living in? Anything that's made in America naturally will cost more, because our labor costs are higher. (at least right now...as soon as Obama is finished spending all the money he borrows from China, our dollar will be so weak that many manufacturing jobs just might come back!

Bad news is all the Union and ex-Union workers won't be able to afford a car anymore.

Hey, Hypnotic: what happens when you get a flat?

  • What do you think? Is this a rhetorical question? I fix it...?? And my SHO came with a full size spare, same wheel/tire. As it should being what they cost, but what the hell kind of question is that, nevermind don't even answer.

And forget the "Parts are American and cheaper", that went so far over your head I don't know how to reply. I was comparing the maintainence costs of an American car to a European car, when car shopping I was considering Euro's, not just Domestic... Jeez, you that slow?

  • o_o

    (crickets chirping)

  • And they don't mention it's AWD, has blind spot warnings, massage-rs in the seats, bottom and back, and the really cool part, you can control the speed of the car, with the KEY. So if you're older and have a teenager that wants to use the car, you can limit it to any speed you want, say, 65mph. So when they go to race their buddies, they can't. and they don't die, and everyone's happy and alive. Kickass car, and SOO fast, especially with the programmer, 420HP then, and no void warranty baby.

  • no warranty void on the reprogrammer?...Derr...the Easter Bunny is real too...

  • ??? Dude my first mod after buying my 2004 Terminator was a very similar programmer, it was a 43hp gain, and didn't void the warranty. Wtf... Believe what you want, why would I throw away my warranty on a brand new car? Jeez, another damn troll, youtube is really getting bad. Nobody can chat anymore without a troll destroying conversation or mocking people.

  • What's a 2004 Terminator? All I'm saying is that if you buy a new car (ANY Mofo New Car) and reprogram the PCM.ECU to change ANY of the parameters such as fule mix/ shift ponts/ANYTHING, then you will void your warranty. If you want to say that technology exists that will allow you to hide what you did, and scam the OEM, then that IS true...but that's not what you stated...PWNED!!

  • could care less about the car, what's the name of this song? going crazy here!

  • Drop that Engine into the Ford Focus.

  • hyunday genesis is better :D

  • I love how they say "Thirst of a V6" like its a good thing.

In the UK the vast majority of cards are inline-4

  • The point is that it has the power of a V8 but doesn't consume as much....it's a powerful vehicle unlike little 4 cylinder cars.

  • but its called Eco boost....

cant they call it super biist :p

  • This is American jerkoff. I own a new SHO, and until you drive one, don't even judge it buddy, keep it shut.

  • Grandmas car my ass!!!!!!!!!

  • ford is rockin dual turbos in there new desiel and now in the new tuarus....hell yell one thing this car has on audi is that it is a sleeper and with a lilttle bit of elbow grease you can squezz so much power out of a twin turbo'd v6 with air restrictions and chips etc...so stop bragging on audi and what not.

  • The Germans at Audi can't stop laughing at this ad.

  • I bet that's true...I bet the folks at Lexus are too...Paint durability?...how about body panel durability? Ford bragging about paint is like Joan Rivers bragging about her tan!

Go to Jalopnik and search for SHOcrash to learn what this car looks like after a 5 mph three-way bumper-tap...But that's okay, because the Ford is so quiet, you won't hear the plastic cracking.

  • SHo...should be pronounced SLO...

  • lol are you being serious right now?

    what do you drive?

  • no, I'm not really being serious. I could give a shit if retards buy Fords...it won't be the first time... I drive a 2007 Honda Civic Si sedan: 4 door, great SAT stereo and CD, ipod mp3 port, functional navigation, 6 air bags, cruise, power wind/doors, 6 speed MANUAL trans, lots of power, 4 wheel discs(sized for the weight of the car, unlike the SHO), real stitching on the door panel fabric, fantastic mpg, and...its a honda, so you KNOW it's built right...no union wanks leaving bolts off.

  • besides the fact that you're bashing my car, i'll be reasonable.

feel free to double check me on this:

your honda weighs in at around 2945 lbs. and is rate at 197 HP. if i did my math right, that's a power to weight ratio of .067

the SHO weighs around 4200 lbs. and has 365 HP for a power to weight ratio of .087

since all honda racers love talking about power to weight, the SHO still has you beat. this thing would give the new mustangs a run for the money.

as for breaks, i can't say much.

  • hallelujah. Finally someone that at least TRIES to post something coherent. Seriously! Thank you. you are right on your stuff. Figures it takes Belgrade transplant to do proper math. My position (which is only my opinion) is that this car is too costly, and too fuel inefficient to be a true consideration for the masses that Ford supposedly aimed it.set aside the SHO package, the base Taurus is just a competitor to the Asians on the market..

    Luba=Love in Russian...is Lyubo similar?

    good post!

  • yeah, the way i see it, this car was definitely made to compete with saab, audi, bmw, mercedes, lexus, and so on. especially with the SHO package, that's the market group they're trying to attract.

as for fuel efficiency, considering that the new f-150 can get 20 mpg, i can see this being around 20-25 hwy, at least.

bottom line, if i had money, a family, and wanted a car with kicks, i'd get this.

lol yeah, my name means love except it's bulgarian, not russian. the languages are close though.

  • LyuboLove, may I recommend the handheld I bought for my SHO? Simply plug in, answer a few questions, and walla 55hp, that's 420HP. I paid $350 for it, PM me if you want a link to the company, and it does NOT void the warranty!!!

Not that it wasn't fast before lol! It runs like a beastly N/A car until the boost kicks in, the low end torque is incredible without boost, I LOVE IT. Best car I've ever owned, far better than my '04 Terminator, VR6 or Saab.

Ford is doing it right, DRIVE ONE.

  • ohhhhhhhh now i def gotta drive one since you say its better than a 'nator!

  • Comment removed

  • in response to the question Hypnotic asked: "To make sure Ford doesn't sell many of these lousy cars...did you know there's money in that?

  • It "IS" a better "CAR" than a Terminator, period. And I own both.

  • Manual :p

  • im buying one. had a second gen, best car i ever owned. now i have a gt500 stang, but im getting the sho instead.

  • this is such a sleeper car. I'd buy one

  • Everyone I know calls them S-H-O's.

  • if you look at the commercials for some of the old sho's, they are still called S-H-O. To me it makes more sense to say the letters. it would be like someone saying camry le instead of camry L-E...

  • it should be called S.H.O. considering it stands for Super High Output.. agreed.

  • i agree I always understood it to be s-h-o not sho....duh

  • why are they calling it SHO? shouldn't it be S-H-O?

  • Why would it be s-h-o?

The taurus is called the SHO, after the 90's version of the car with a V6 or V8 and SHO stands for SUPER HIGH OUTPUT. Even back then, it was the SHO, not the s-h-o.

  • i dont think it really matters. there are plenty of acronyms pronunced as the word the spell versus by each letter. either way it spells out super high output

  • I'd so get this car. Ford seems so different now a days, American cars are back baby!

  • Hater

  • They did a race between the two and the Taurus won in all possible cases. 0-60, 0-100, and 1/4 mile

  • your mom is cheap

  • your mom is cheap, but oh well
