  • your monolid are so cute sunnydahye

  • Ok for the first step...even if you want to ask a question some on the street do you still have to bow?

  • Thank you and I like your accent ^^

  • question, do you live in the phillipines?

just asking cuz ur accent is totaly not korean

  • @TheRivalConcept nah, her accent sounds pretty Korean..that's how my cousin sounds too

  • Nice thanks for some of these tips Sunny ( love that name ^_^ ) and your accent is very cute! i love it and you're very adorable looking. I sub your channel. I look forward to your new stuff keep up the good work!

  • U really cute, how old are u??? :)

  • This is so helpful!! Kamsamnida!!

  • I've been here almost 5 years, and:

    1. You don't need to know much Korean to live here. There's alot of English here. Of course, the more you learn, the more enjoyable your experience will be.

    2. You don't need to bow as she says. Common greeting courtesy is sufficient. A slight bow is sufficient.

    3. Saying Anyeong Haseyo and Kamsa hamnida is a given and hardly a tip. That's like telling Koreans they need to say thank you in N. America. Really? Omg! I had no idea!

  • 그래!! This is TRUE! xD

  • Hi! Did you undergo plastic surgery? I do not want to be rude or something.. But I'm just curious. Youre so pretty BTW :) Love your skin ♥

  • 안녕!

I am an American learning Korean and hope to visit Korea someday. This video was very helpful. 감사합니다! :)

  • i accidently bowed to my indegarten teacher because i was so used t it... also again repeadedly to random ppl

  • I like the bowing, strange that Chinese do not bow. Why is that?

  • @marktg9009

Because Korea and China are different countries with different customs.

  • @CrunchyButtBurger Hi, I actually dated a Chinese woman here in the USA (California) for about a year. The Bay Area (SF) of California has a high density of Asians particularly Chinese. There are neighborhoods in CA that are 80% Asian, and as a white guy I feel (at times) like a minority. So your comments on how Koreans interact with travelers and so forth is similar to what it feels like in some California neighborhoods. I prefer the bowing + showing respect for one another.

  • @marktg9009

You live in SF and you dated a Chinese woman, and wonder why Chinese don't bow? Why don't you use your minority status and go around asking all the Chinese why, instead of wondering why culture differences exist in the 21st century.

And also I'm Chinese and I live in the SGV so you don't need to explain stuff to me.

  • Naaw she is so nice :)

  • nice talk+ pretty

  • You're right , my sister and brother in law used to live in Seoul and they suffered a little in the beginning because they couldn't speak Korean , even though I taught them the basic words that I already know ( I think they forgot it lol ) however people there were nice and helped them and lucky to them they met several Koreans who can speak English . The thing I like the most about Korea is the language , one of the reason I want to visit it is to speak the few Korean words I know lol .

  • what is your native language? :)

  • Thank you for all your tips! I really like your accent, it sounds Filipino hehe. Your tips really helped, thank you again so much and keep up the great work! ^__^

  • even after I watched your vid, I won't talk to any korean with korean english accent, I still feel that it's offensive to them.

  • How about not going to North Korea? That's my survival tip.

  • 너무 귀여워!! is it correct? haha :)

  • I BOW DOWN TO NO MAN

  • @yoransom Humble yourself troll :)

  • Black people crime very scar.

  • BOW YOUR HEADS!!!!!!!!!! like in planet of the apes! lol

  • i was startled at your voice!I'm not looking at the monitor when you spoke,,,

  • I have a question about the bowing when greeting. We had a foreign exchange student from Korea last year and when my mom asked him how they great each in Korea (She has asked "Do you bow when you great each other"). He said they typically shake hands and do a little bow, but not a full bow like you did. So, does it depend on the region or just personal preference or what?

  • @nuorangejapan this is such a helpful explanation!

  • OMG I LOVE YOUR ACCENT! It sounds so cute :)

  • I lived in Seoul for a year and had a wonderful time. All you have to do is be polite, perhaps pick up basic words as she said, like thank you, hello and please. This will get you far there. Korean people are great, just don't take your prejudices there, remember, you are a guest there. Enjoy the country, its an awesome experience.

  • @jmrx27 Well things are different lol When i wears my school clothes or jsut going out ,koreans are polite. But whenever i do part time works ..well ..they act like master to slave.Especially i think they don't lose a chance to curse westerner if you bump onto them in restaurant.

  • @jmrx27 Amen to that, could not agree more with what you said

  • @ackWilliamOnTour thanks! Hmm offensive? Ppl in korea thinks if you pronounce english words in english they see you as showing off.(Especially korean who lived abroad like me) That's just what people think overall..., some ppl will think ure being arrogant if you do it. So its more like adapting to what they think its ok,I'm not offending korean in anyway. Why would I? I'm korean myself, and I don't want or like to offend my own people. ^o^ thanks for understanding.

  • @sunnydahye ugh I hate it when people do that. My english teacher does that all the time and it annoys everyone.

  • @sunnydahye You're so beautiful. Are all Korean girls beautiful like you?

    I'm sad now.

    Actually, nah, I'm happy.

  • Really cool video! Plus your English is amazing, really damn good! I would of thought that putting on a Korean accent when pronouncing English words would offend people? Almost like mocking them to me! I know when people put on a fake aussie accent near me i find it very patronizing!

  • @JackWilliamOnTour i totally agree with you on the aussie accent. it's always so stereotypical. sometimes it's funny othertime it's like...no.

  • @retiredstalker DAFUQ did I just read?

  • are we suppose to bow to everyone even if were just passing by, or just walking in to a room with people, or just when we introduce ourselves to someone?

  • @AlexCupCakeXD i don't think you need to bow when you're walking by people (i.e. on the street), but if it's someone you know, i think bowing is good.

same goes for walking into a room with people, i.e. like you're entering a restaurant=no bow.

bowing is kind of like acknowledgement to the other person/party, meant to be respectful. i think in the u.s. kids do a head nod sort of wuz up kind of thing? like that but more formal and in a more respectful manner,&unbounded by age.

  • @pwnagefoo ooh ok thank you :D

  • you`re really pretty!

  • height is everything there, im korean, i kno, try to be taller and stuff

as she says people judge u by ur greeting and ur manners

im not sure if the last ones true, but learning korean would be a good idea, they arent really good at english, try taking some classes for a few months or weeks or something

just having a basic understanding helps

for transportation, call 1330 for help, using the subways, buses, and taxis is fairly cheap

if u still need help, ask people who look like teenagers

  • @kittythingy713 Wow, I don't think I would like to live in Korea then. I can do all the things you listed above, but I am not tall. sadly I am only about 5'6 or 167cm. It's too bad some people can be prejudiced against things people didn't choose. Too bad since Seoul and Jeju do seem like really nice places to visit. I think maybe that I will just visit there. I am thinking maybe Japan or Southeast asia would probably be better suited for me.

  • @supermonk3y07 Still, being too high isn't "good" either. Every time my friend (175cm, korean living in Norway) returns from Korea she ask if she really is too tall. Sadly it's a fact they do care much about looks and height. But, you should know the same thing goes for Japan. And if you're foreign you'll have a hard time there too. If you really wanna move there I don't think this should stop you though. I'm sure there are not so judging people both in Korea and Japan too ;D

  • @supermonk3y07 people understand english in japan, but they'll answer back in japanese, not too helpful, luckily i had a guide that could speak so it was alright

  • watch?v=WJ4I3S1kcEU&feature=related <-- you dont have to believe me... but please believe her.

  • I have some questions. Because everything I know about Korea is from my almost unhealthy consumption of korean movies. But, are they reserved in their way of meeting new people? Does the economical class difference matters much? And third, can you even mention North Korea or is that a subject you avoid at all costs?

  • She's beautiful! ^^

  • can i sink you with my pink torpedo?

  • Koreans are the rudest type of east asian! Its the absolute truth. Most Koreans are loud, obnoxious, selfish, shallow and materialistic. Please watch this video for the truth

    watch?v=WJ4I3S1kcEU&feature=related

  • She's really right. There's some Koreans who own a hair cair shop here in the States where I live right? Well just because I asked them what part of Korea are they from and I just named like two places in Korea, they were really impressed and they really like me and my family now.....they are really ez to please like that because they must of felt at least I showed an interest in where they are from.

  • you are such a cutie pie. thanks for the tips.

  • so you want us to bow down and suck your dick?? asian people are so gay.

  • @Xyz2394 So you want us to wave like you're going to slap their face? Could say the same about you buddy. Stop being such a dick.

  • This is so great, you're very entertaining and informitive. :)

  • the 'magic' words are please and thankyou

you have the cutest lisp :p

  • Hey I have question are u born in U.S.A and you parents is from Korean??

  • This video was very informative..

  • i agree with a lot of it ~ but about english pronunciation i,m not sure about people thinking as show off englih lol i think just in many cases koreans don't full understand native english soo " konglish " pronuciation sounds more accurate to them lol

  • Thank you for the information. I hope to learn more about Korea.

  • You're really pretty! ^^

  • this is actually really good advice lol

  • I would not go near to that communist country. Sorry.

  • @Zoza15 Wow, think this video is probably from South Korea... you know... the democratic one...jeez :P

  • @Zoza15 It's about going to South Korea which is not communist at all....

  • I really love your videos and your tutorials, i wish i lived in korea. and your super pretty could you do a korean fashion style video if you can? that would be super wonderful please reply thank you~

  • I agree with most of it except the "speak english with the korean accent or else people will think you're showing off"? Isn't it offending to native english speaking people? What if someone told you to speak korean with another accent? I don't really see how speaking english with a different accent from koreans is rude, offensive or should even matter.

  • @thecuteproject Yeah, but people do find it offending. My sister always gets mad at me if I speak English at all because she feels like I'm showing off when I do it. I guess she just can't handle her baby sister to be better than her at something.

  • what other words are good to learn like basic words

  • You know I keep hearing bad things about Korea from various places. Then I see videos of normal people who are actually born and raised there and they seem like the nicest people in the world.

Maybe the jerks of Korea don't make videos, lol.

  • "like bow down..like that" hehehe

  • @kimaste this are social tips, if all people can speak korean then whats the point of having korean classes, etc? sames goes to english. so if you dont like this video, you can go ahead and unsub. rather than commenting on it and give so much negativity about this video while it is addressed to people who are seeking for social and cultural knowledge about korea. thanks

  • @TrueAltaic that is not true, being rude is very general in any countries you will find rude people in the society. so you cant simply just judge directly towards korean that they are rude. there will be in the community that we can findnumbers of rude people, but not all of them are rude.

  • @sunnydahye I admire your sincerity. You are definitely the exception to the majority. XoXoX ^^

  • @TrueAltaic Chinese are not only rude but they don't help a dying toddler run over by 2 trucks... Yue Yue.

  • @TrueAltaic Holy generalization, Batman. What is considered rude in one culture can be considered totally okay in another. Also, considering the many layers of politeness built into the Korean language, I doubt that "rude" is an accurate description of the Korean people.

  • @TrueAltaic And the New Yorkers are the rudes people of the Eastern US. However the Midwest has the rudest people too. I mean we could go on and on....stop the stereotyping thanks! lol

  • @TrueAltaic ow this is like saying black ppl is the most ghetto-ish. white ppl are the most palest. and hispanic are the most badest. :d asian stereotype. you are rude to say korean ppl are rude

  • @jayminh543 im not sure if their the rudest but the people there are very materialistic

my brothers living there right now and he doesnt like the attitude of the people

  • @TrueAltaic Haha, way to generalise a country with 49 million people. Sure I expect that they can be uncomfortable since they are not good at english. There's alot of things that might seem like they are rude, but mostly from my experience that all comes from cultural differences and misunderstandings.

  • nice video. anyway, what's your new blogspot URL? :))

  • Hey just watching your tips and i think there pretty cool but i heard about about different types of bows Like while you bow and you look at them in the eye isnt that rude?

  • @Dangsrandomvids i believe it is. thats why when she said bow, she had he head completely down. its like you're supposed to look at your feet, to indicate friendlyness and trust. at least thats what they taught us in Tae Kwon Do. Ahn han! haha

  • @nastyninja50187 ah kk thanks :)

  • @Dangsrandomvids anytime bro!
