  • @pianoracle

two points really...1. The two commandments Jesus quoted were a sum of the entire law of Moses..not just the ten.

    2. There were those who kept the law, were teachers of the law..attempting to follow it to the letter...yet jesus said that others who had not the law or were sinners showed more love than them. Remember love is greater than the letter.

  • EGW lie!

SDA give EGW green light to ate unclean meat.

    Should I go on.

  • Ecclesiastes 9:5

For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

There is no eternally burning fire to torment the wicked. Hell actually refers to a Greek word meaning grave. Like it or not people who are dead are essentially unconscious.

They will however be resurrected and YES God WILL burn them in a lake of fire according to their wickedness however this will not be eternal. How could a God

  • How did you come to the conclusion that "you don't know the bible"? Where did I say that "hell is forever"? E. White claims that "there is no hell" & "God doesn't want to hear the screaming of the damned forever"...Jesus himself spoke of hell more than He did of the Kingdom..."In the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth"...& "where the fire is not quenched and the worm dieth not." I'll believe Jesus Christ. Not some lady that went along with false prophets in 1840s.

  • @bheadh She didn't say there's no hell, she said that hell hasn't come yet and it won't be forever. Fire not being quenched doesn't mean it doesn't stop burning, it just means it's not put out. Quenching involves outside intervention. And "the worm dieth not" doesn't mean the person continues to exist, it means the worm consuming doesn't die.

Miller wasn't a false prophet because he never prophesied Jesus coming. He shared his interpretation of what God already said.

  • @bheadh Read Malachi 4:1-3, Isaiah 34:8-10 and Psalms 92:7 it'll fully explain what hell is.

    Examples of Hell in:

    Jude 1:7

    II Peter 2:6

    Jeremiah 52:12-13

    II Chronicles 36:19-21

There is no hell right now, people are not in hell burning for eternity right now, such a thing would make final judgment completely redundant. But hey, the consequences of hell are eternal (they never again live.)

  • Isn't this ironic.Take a closer look at your "example of Jude1:7.."They are before us to dissuade us, as they undergo a punishment (it didn't say WILL undergo) of ETERNAL fire". It's also "ironic" that the examples in Jude & Peter that you gave are talking about "false teachers". (as E. White is) Jer. 52:12-13 talks about warfare, not hell. Same thing in the 2nd Chronicles. Hell is eternal, my friend. Consider your "prophet" she was wrong on Christs return..TWICE, Believe Jesus, not some lady.

  • @bheadh I find it hard to believe we follow the same book.

Also that's not what Jude 1:7 says, it talks about Sodom and Gomorrah as an example, and 2 Peter 2:6 makes no mention of "false teachers" idk where you got that from, nice try?

Jeremiah 52:12-13 was talking Babylon's invasion, which was allowed as punishment to the Hebrews for their disobedience (2 Chr 39:19-21 talks about the same thing if you read it.)

Try actually reading the scripture and stop trying to change the text.

  • @KidWindstorm Sorry, my friend. This question of eternal hell is one that we'll never know, in this life for sure. Whether either one of us twists the agenda of our beliefs The "false teacher" I was talking about is/was the brain injury victim E. White. She miss-predicted the Second Comming of Christ twice (along with the "millerites" of the 1840s). By this fact alone we know she is a false predicter of events, whether we argue bible verses back & forth is worthless.

  • @iiiemotioniii

anyone who claims That God gave them visions and say Thus says the Lord is essentially declaring themselves a prophet and the sda church states her as the spirit of prophesy.

And while she tried to direct to the bible it was her interpretation she would use to teach the bible and not the bible itself.

  • Often times people SPEAK OUT OF VAIN CONCEIT. Dr. Walter Martin simply doesn't have a grasp of the ENTIRETY of sister Ellen's work as a messenger of Christ in His ministry of Salvation. Sister Ellen never proclaimed herself as a prophet, that's a fact, BUT SHE EXPLICITLY EXPRESSED HER ROLE IN THE WORK IN SAYING "I am only a messenger with A MESSAGE."

Sister Ellen White's writings motivate people toward understanding BIBLICAL TRUTHS. Her writings point people back to the Bible.

  • ellen g white is so oviously a false prophet. sda church is a cult and need to drop her teachings and the strict food and sabbath law as we are no longer under the law but under grace rely on Jesus Christ and the cross alone. read colossians 2:16

  • @mamainmancj I understand your reaction, but you have a misconception. REMEMBER NOT ALL WHO CALL THEMSELVES SDAs are SDAs. There are those WHO MISREPRESENT THE WRITINGS OF SISTER ELLEN, they end up becoming LEGALISTS. They clearly fall short of GRACE when they pursue a life where WORKS BECOME MERITORIOUS. That is not what Sister White intended to motivate people to become, you don't know what principles she advocates because you never read and studied them yourself without prejudice.

  • @mamainmancj if that's the case the the Mormons need to drop there book of Mormons and the Catholics need to stop praying to stop praying to dead people. and the Baptist need to stop acting like the holy ghost makes a person pass out or run around like a wild animal cause God did say that he is not a God of confusion. POINT- WE ALL HAVE THINGS IN OUR FAITH THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED. SO IF SDA IS A COLT THEN SO ARE ALL THE OTHER FAITHS MY FRIEND.

  • @bigestl I agree. I have never came across a denomination that did not have something I disagreed with. All religions and denominations are fallible. The only one that is perfect is Jesus. Look to him and stop looking to religion.

  • @mamainmancj just to show you quickly the ignorance of your ways: You along with millions of other so-called Christians have this HUGE problem with the Sabbath. What other of the 9 commandments would you like to do away with as well? Shall you kill now? Shall you have many gods? Shall you slap your mother when she speaks to you what you don't like? Shall you commit adultery now? Shall you steal? Shall you lie in court? Shall you take God's name in vain? Shall you envy me? Which one?

  • i cant believe that dude is a pastor in the SDA church and does not understand 1844...Christ moving to the most holy place based on Daniel and Rev...he needs to go back and study. 1844 was not a disgrace but it made the millerites study more which birthed the advent church

  • very biased...Ellen White points to Christ and calls herself the lesser light which points to Christ. They are basing their thoughts on EGW on how a few fanatics deify her.

  • Ellen White was a false prophet. Period. She was part of the "Millerite" movement of the 1840s. Their "advent" didn't happen. They claim some commandments are "real" commandments and others are "sacrificial" commandments. SDAs are leading people astray. If E. White was a false prophet, then her "message" is false as well. SDA is a cult on the very fringe of Christianity. Listen to them at your own risk.

  • @bheadh Call Ellen White what ever you like cause its not her that the SDA worships and she is just a servant of God that the SDA church respects. The same way all Christians respect King David, Moses, and The Disciples. SDA follows GOD but has those servants of God that they respect, and love .

  • @bigestl Must I go through the "doctrines" of White to show you how false your "church" is? Or how contrary it is to the message of Christ? Ellen White is certainly NOT to be respected as is Moses (who "talked with God" or the disciples who talked with God. (Jesus) If you want examples, to show how anti-biblical and really anti-Christ your "church" is... I'll certainly provide them but I don't want to embarass anyone. For example: "there is no hell..God doesn't want to hear the damned forever.

  • @bheadh You don't even know the bible ..i'm trying to figure out where you even read that hell is something that is forever ?

  • @bigestl No i disagree, the SDA follow the teachings of Ms White. If you threw out her doctrine, you guys would be lost.

  • @MyBountykilla that's garbage. I've been a Seventh-Day Adventist all my life. I have NEVER used a single quote from Ellen White to prove anything I believe as a Christian. I honestly believe Ellen White is not much relevant to reaching out to people and sharing the love of Christ. She served her purpose. Let her be.

  • @pianOracle I admire you for that, you have a great heart. Just be the church. as long as you said the romans 10:9 prayer your on your way

  • @MyBountykilla Tnx but I been on my way, brother. What folks don't understand is that once saved, NOT always saved. That's a doctrine of demons. Just cause you got baptized in that water doesn't mean you can't change your mind later. Nobody's "stuck" in Christianity, nor in salvation once in. That demonic concept causes people to believe they have a license to sin so "grace may abound," as points Paul. They return continually to their own vomit, as point out Solomon and Peter.

  • @pianOracle

The bible says that if anyone leaves then they never really belonged, hence not really saved to start with, otherwise they would have continued in the faith.

Jesus said - and this is my commandment that you love others as I have loved you...that is a commandment found in the mosaic law and not one of the ten commandments...another commandment we've been given is to believe on the name of Jesus.

  • @Myhopeisinhim the bible also counts the parable of the lost sheep, that not only left but the Shepard went AFTER it! How does that correlate? Jesus also said go ye and preach the gospel to all nations, and let not your heart be troubled and many other things, He commanded. What's your point?

When asked which commandment was the greatest, what did Jesus say? He summed up all 10 commandments in 2; NOT diminishing them but generalizing and fusing them into the concept of love.

  • @pianOracle

You'll notice that he did not quote one of the ten commandments. He quoted two laws that summed up the entire law of God(law of Moses). They were the greatest commandments..that doesn't mean he was talking about the ten when he said those.

Remember many people attempted to follow the ten and Jesus told them they did not show love...while the sinners who broke the law had more love than them...this needs to be taken into account. Jesus didn't quote the ten as being..

  • the most important...nor did he say the sabbath was the most important, although some would have you believe that these days.

1 john 3 speaks of commandments we must keep that show we are in him and he in us...those two commands are....believing in the name of Jesus, and loving others...those are the commands that are being referred to...

  • @Myhopeisinhim Before even replying to you, I'll stop so I can be clear on your point, if you don't mind restating it..

  • @bheadh you speak nonsense and ignorance but at least you're funny. I'm curious as to what way of life you suggest as an alternative more based on truth out there. Or are you also an Atheist?

  • Biased talkshow

  • us bible alone following and born again christains are just tryna set use free from ure hard religon all have sinned and fall short were all guilty. only jesus can save!!!

  • hey im a biblical born again christain and ive got nothing against the sda people just what they are teaching and would really love to see them saved and set free from the teachings of ellen g white

  • sda is a confused cult. they are puting ellen g whites teachings above jesus' keeping the sabbath and the certain diet read colossains 2:16 and that will answer that. use are relying on works to save you read ephesains 2:8-9 for by garce are we saved through faith and not of works lest ne man should boast. jesus furfilled what use are bound to on the cross. repent and put ure trust in christs finished work on the cross alone and you will be born again and saved. the truth (jesus) will set u free

  • @mamainmancj quit that ignorance man. not all SDA are like that. I have a Great Controversy and all of E. G. White books @ home. I find that the sister is realler than most. No doubt a lot of people hate on her because she's so strict! But if you can understand her concepts, you can't deny their truths and their direct correlation with God's word. Above God's word? I DON'T think so. I was taught to read my Bible every day; not Messages to Young People or Great Controversy.

  • The Seventh Day Adventists were invented in the 19th century A.D. They have link to the Orthodox Christian faith established by the Lord Jesus Christ and handed down by the Apostles.

  • Hell is real place. SDA & JW's don't believe hell is real palce. Can SDA explen Luke 16:23 Jesus telling the truth that rich man is in hell.

  • @tdickensheets u mean the parable of lazurus and the rich man????

  • Yes!

  • @tdickensheets a parable?? are you kidding me?? how old are you? your only excuse is if you're non-Christian...

  • my brothers and sisters i tell you this if the truth is not delivered out of love and concern for each other but weather to just prove who is right or wrong .then it is Not from God> the Adventist Church is a Church who hold fast to Biblical Teaching and seeks the face of our Lord just as EVERY TRUE CHRISTIAN SHOULD. AS CHRIST SAID LET HE WHO IS W/O SIN CAST THE 1ST STONE. I ASK U WHY ARE U THROWING STONES AT YOUR 7TH DAY BROTHERS WHO SEEK GOD OWN HEART.

  • @bigestl

Do you agree that churches who have truths mixed with lies are dangerous?

  • @Myhopeisinhim when truth is put into the hands of man it can often get mixed up. We are ALL sinners and the Bible says we ALL have fallen short . Notice it dose not that Some of us have fallen short but ALL of us. I believe that God knew that sinful man would tarnish his truth at times and sent us his holy spirit to counter mans sinful shortcomings.

  • @Myhopeisinhim I believe the danger is when man looks to the his church for salvation and not God.

  • @bigestl

Many of the churches today teach that unless you are part of their church then you aren't part of the remnant. That if you leave that particular church, you are walking away from the remnant and rejecting the truth. What are your thoughts of people who leave the adventist church and their teaching of the sabbath?

  • @Myhopeisinhim Remnant means a part of the original.acc.2 the bible God's remnant church is those who hold on to his commandments. which includes the 4th commandment of sabbath. When we read Rev 1:11-20 and 2:1-29 God had a message for 7 different churches. remember the story of the PERIODICAL SON.who left home but his father never stopped loving him.Jesus said the periodical son remember on day that even IN HIS FATHERS HOUSE EVEN THE SERVANTS HAD ALL THEY NEEDED AND CAME HOME.

  • @bigestl

Do you believe all that God commands is considered commandments? or do you believe that the term "commandments" solely sticks with the ten?

  • @Myhopeisinhim the remnant church of the Bible keeps the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus. The commandments referred to are God's law. His 10 Commandments of which modern-day Christians keep about 6-7 out of 10 but swear by the ones they keep while going crazy if you tell them that all are meant to be kept. James made it clear in the 2nd chapter of his book. Jesus made it clear, and others made it clear. Not talking about Mosaic law ceremonial law, etc...

  • it it clear the 7DAY guy prob is not his belief in Ms. White but HIS SKILLS IN DEBATING WHAT HE BELIEVES. BEING ON A DEBATE TEAM MYSELF, I KNOW WE ARE TAUGHT HOW TO WIN ARGUMENTS AND THE 7DAY GUY DOSE NOT HAVE THAT DEBATE SKILL B/C I WOULD HAVE WOULD HAVE WON THIS ARGUMENT. child boo

  • Wow, SDA stumbles answering the questions.

  • But Desmond Ford has two PHD's One from Manchester England other from Michigan And is known as one of the leading scholars in the world!

  • lol Walter Martin was no "Dr" in Christianity. He ordered his so-called Ph.D. in the mail; he never earned a Ph.D. from anywhere. All Walter did was help himself. Any quote from Kingdom of the Cults is invalid and has no credibility. Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God.

  • @majinish There are contradictions all throughout the book of mormon.

  • @freetotheworld1 Heard that before. I've read the Bible and Book of Mormon all the way through and I can assure you there are no contradictions at all.

  • @majinish Really? Heres just one. Bear in mind I'm not trying to condemn you or anything, just showing you the truth. D&C 130:3 says, “The idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man’s heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false.” But in Alma 34:36, it says, “And this I know, because the Lord hath said he dwelleth not in unholy temples, but in the hearts of the righteous doth he dwell.” :/

  • @freetotheworld1 Try again. D&C 130 means they cannot literally be in your heart since they have bodies of flesh and bone. Alma 34:36 is talking about how we're to be like Christ.

  • @majinish Can you prove that? I mean, they both use the word "Dwell"

    Seams pretty clear to me

  • @freetotheworld1 Common sense. You cannot have someone of flesh and bones literally inside your heart.

  • @majinish How do you know its talking literally? I didn't see anything about that in there.

  • @majinish Also, Joseph Smith said, “We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith p 345. This is eternal progression, which teaches that God was once a man who became a god, and we humans have the same ability. Yet Moroni 8:18 says, “For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable, from all eternity to all eternity.”

  • @freetotheworld1 Moroni 8:18 doesn't contradict what Joseph Smith said. Unchangeable in Moroni 8:18 isn't talking about the physical nature of God. Hebrews 13:8 talks about how the Son is the same yesterday, today, and forever yet Luke 2:52 shows Jesus has physically and mentally changed since he increased in wisdom and stature. Joseph Smith and Moroni were talking about the Father the same way Luke and Hebrews talk about the Son.

  • @freetotheworld1 The scriptures, Bible included, do not necessarily say tells of a physical change in God but the scriptures make it clear that something eternal can still go through physical changes.

  • Joseph Smith does not follow the Scriptures. Ellen G White does.

  • "Janzenandy" makes a good point. No one said Biblical prophets didn't sin; they were human, too. But *They Never Contradicted God.*

But "if people read the Bible enough, they wouldn't need to read her writings" and "Scriptures stand above her writings," why then read anything she wrote, except for INSIGHT only? If what janzenandy says is true, that tells me that Ellen G. White was *not* a prophet. IIRC, I don't remember her ever calling herself a "prophet," either.

  • @wannawatchu66 That's a faulty deduction though; Peter and Paul never called themselves prophets, and yet they had visions from God. The Bible shows no indication that Moses called himself a prophet; the people were the ones who called him a prophet. King David was not called a prophet of God, and yet we know that he foresaw Jesus' coming. King Nebuchadnezzer was not a prophet of God, yet God showed him the future.

  • @iMattCi89 All I said was that I don't remember White *calling* or *considering* herself a prophet. I wasn't talking about whether she actually WAS one or not. I don't know...DID she call or consider herself one?

  • @wannawatchu66 Actually, she considered herself only the Lord's messenger. Sometimes, she had the role of a prophet, in that she delivered God's rebukes to individuals who were living inconsistent lives while claiming to be holy (such as openly committing adultery but still claiming to be sanctified). But most times, her role was more, when counsels and guidance on proper Christian bearing and lifestyle from God were given. Her work was largely on how to live holy, consecrated lives to God.

  • Happy Sabbath Everyone...Praise the Lord of the Eternal Sabbath Day. Your Laws are Holy Just and Good, Thank you Lord they are for MY good. AMEN

  • @prospiritoftruth

it appears that you feel that if someone keeps the letter they aren't breaking the sabbath.

What are your thoughts on how priests could profane the sabbath by circumcising someone on the sabbath, yet he is declared blameless?

  • I would much rather be in Dr William Johnson's situation because he recognizes that which is divinely inspired even if he is not in a position to defend it. The others have such an attitude and carnal perceptions that no matter how easily they hammer Dr Johnson, I am not impressed at all. To ask someone dedicated to study and pracitse the "light'' so as to be not moved by anything to be asked what it would take to move you is like asking a yes or no answer to "Have you stopped beating your wife?

  • Rom1:20 declares that there is no excuse for not even knowing the Godhead as it is written in creation. Just as there are three infinite and uncreate Alhpa and Omegas (infinitely long straight line of infinitely small points in space and time but not of it) that make one God, so also three infintitely long straight lines perpendicular to one another make one three dimensional infintely large cube, so just as cube describes the ideal relationship between three axis so also God describes ideal rel

  • Ellen White covered herself from being misquoted by declaring that if she ever seemed to be contradicting what she normally said, to only take as divinely protected from serious alteration, the five conflict of the ages series and the nine testimonies to the churh. If Dr Martin can show in PP, PK, DA, AA or GC or 1-9T that Ellen White declares that Jesus is not God, then he may make a valid point otherwise forget it. We both believe 1 John 5:7, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost are one God

  • proSpiritofTruth The Scriptures firstly need to be checked that they are 100% Textus Receptus and not Alexandrian Gnostic counterfiets, and only the Authorized KJV of 1611 is this in the English language, if a Revised Version translation is copyrighted it is immediately condemned by 2 Peter 1:20&21, previously quoted. This KJV is what validates Ellen White and Ellen White opens up purer more integrated interpretations for us to check out ourselves. Cross reference Rev.41:12, 12:17 &19:12 SpOfPro

  • proSpiritofTruth

Ellen White said she was a divinely inspired messenger of God, and as such, that which she declared as such a messenger, stands for all time, just like the holy men of old, in 2 Peter 1:21 &21, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

  • Rev. 14:12 declares that God's remant church keeps the commandments of God. Only one church has a hope of this for the rest either break the 4th commandment by Sunday keeping or the seventh by allowing their members to retain their membership when remarryng while their original partners still live.

    proSpiritofTruth.

  • proSpiritofTruth

Firstly, the denomination known as Seventh Day Advnetists have no chance of being the continuation of the church of which Ellen White was a member until the promise of Romans 8:35-39, is false, because the continuation of the church was the initial 2% of the German Union conference who were disfellowshipped in August, 1914 for refusing to endorse the letter of its president, H. F. Shuberth, who agreed in the letter to join the army, take up arms and on Sabbath. to be contnued.

  • Its like a whole church verse one SDA haha

And they give him like no time to talk they just bombard him with questions.

  • Come on you are telling me this man is a minister for the SDA church? LOL seriously the man in the audience claims to be a miniter who is saying why do we forget about our roots and move on. Every church has come from imperfection. Only God is perfect churches are made by man not God.

  • Ellen White herself says that the Bible is the final authority. I for one will am out on Mrs. White however, I do believe she wrote a lot of inspired text but nothing goes above the word of God.

  • Isn't it interesting That Jesus and his followers were also called a sect or cult by the religious leaders of his time? Acts28;22 "But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against." Jusus said in Joun 15;20 "The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you". and Luke6;26 "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets"

  • I pray to God everynight for the fall of SDAs. They insulted people by their false prophecies.“And I exhort you, brothers, to watch those making divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned, and avoid them. (18) For they who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches they deceive the hearts of the simple.”Romans 16:17-18

  • God - Jesus is God this teaching came from God not 1844 John 3:23,24 & 5:21

NO 1844,NO CHURCH what a ABSURDITY building on sand. NO JESUS,NO CHURCH should be the belief. Bc sda built on cult sand ,No 1844 then no IJ & EGW to mean the "end of the world" would u believe in God with out 1844? This statement came from a brother & he is right.

  • dr walter old witchhunter im glad you are on the other side man.

  • This is scary to see the only thing that keeps this world afloat in the eyes of God is being attacked the the prophets back in the day when she was alive the gave her hell and now she is dead they are giving her hell.

  • Not bitter. Just careful. With the guidance of the holy Spirit we shouldn't place such emphasis on humans, especially when there interpretations of prophets, or dreams/visions, etc., contradict the Bible. I find it very misleading to claim the returntof Christ on a certain day, and when it doesn't happen (twice I might add) on the day you propclaimed, indicate the was a supernatural event in heaven.

  • @apopyalips Gen 2;3 reads God blessed "the" seventh day. Not 'A" seventh day. Also not the Jewish race weren't around in the Garden. The Sabbath day was created for all hummanity.

  • the word of God stands forever.isaih 40:3 of course the adventists christians use the scriptures when they preach. what is wrong with this people who contradicts them? if walter martin is a sunday keeping, he must admit that he changed the comandements of God. of course Paul preached and we continue to hold on his preahing.

i will hold on to the ten comandements of God and to the faith in Jesus christ the way to the father.

  • @2tires To be Christian is to be like Christ. Christ left us with his testimony. Jesus observed the Sabbath as well as the Apostels and the first Christians. In fact the Bible mentions the Sabbath will continue in Heaven. The Sabbath was instituted before Adam and Eves fall. God even blessed it. You can go to church anyday of the week and Adventists do. But only ONE day is blessed and instruction given to congregate. Happy Sabbath. What would Jesus do?

  • Ellen g White is not/was not/ never will be a prophet. I was an adventist for over 20 years and the SDA's regard her writings as authoritative and this will be there downfall. She has no power over anyone or anything-she was merely a commentator pure and simple-nothing she wrote is canonical and never will be. EGW's "Holy of Holies" vision in a field after the great dissapointment is humiliating and a farce to save face in the Christian community--she is a false prophet.

  • @jeanvert69 - Brother, you seem quite bitter. I suppose you found the "true" meaning of the 2300 day/night as well as the 70 weeks prophecy that lead us exactly to the moment of Christ's death... ok, then... you're free to do so... now, if you are still a Christian you must be honest, with yourself and other, to admit that we are small and limited to understand God, and to question His dealings with men. God sends prophets to guide His people, not the rest of the world... His people are to do it

  • Prophets in the here and now are not on the same class as the prophets of old. The Bible is founded upon the prophets and the apostles. They held to a different level than any prophet today. People do get words today but it is not to be canonized adn it should never contradict anything that has already been set in stone by the prophets of the Bible. Some people also hold to John Calvin like he was a prophet. some of his beliefs are unbiblical.

  • Comment removed

  • Answer to 2nd Question: (Paraphraseing here again) "Why do we continue to listen to the words of Ellen White after she's dead? Shouldn't her teachings die with her?

The words of a prophet are the words of God himself not the oppinion of that person (2 peter 1:21; Numbers 12:6,8) so they stand forever.

What Biblical evidence is there that in our time today there will be prophets and not just in Bible times? (Acts 217; Ephesians 4:7-13)

  • @StMaule That fact that she is dead, doesn't invalidate what she wrote IF what she wrote came from God... otherwise we should throw the Bible away... which is NOT the case. Take this, for example: In many instances in the Bible God sends and prophecy with TIME through a prophet, and then at the fulfillment of the time God sends another prophet to confirm and guide His people (prophecy of the 400 years through Abraham, and then God sent Moses at the close of that prophecy...) [PART 1]

  • @StMaule - Could it be that the Scriptures have something to tell us about how God operates in His dealings with men? Take some examples of prophets and prophecies. First of all, in the time of Israel, when God sent a prophet Jeremiah, Isaiah, Zachariah, Amos, you name them... they were not accepted in general, but some were even killed by their own people. Second, their writings (when there were such) were questioned because they said they already had the BIBLE (TORAH)... Jesus faced the same..

  • @StMaule I thought that question that Gentleman asked in the audience was very ridiculous. John the Baptist was not a canonical prophet, but his teachings of baptism is still being applied today. So the that man's premise was false.

  • @StMaule Ellen white was a false prophet. She contradicted scripture. And she is dead. let her heretical teachings die.

  • @211Jetsfan I don't mind you having an oppionion of you own, but could you kindly provide proff next time? Somply saying This is Right and that is wrong isn't enough. Due to the seriousness of the subject you should understand. This is life and death (eternal)

  • @StMaule "The words of a prophet are the words of God himself."

So youre saying Ellen White's writing are at the same level as scripture written by prophets?

  • Answer to the First Question: (Paraphrasing here) "Why listen to just one person, why not stick to scriptures and only scriptures for guidance?"

    (a) The gift of prophecy WILL exist in God's church until the end of time (Ephesians 4:11,13)

(b)Jesus's end-time church will have the gift of prophecy (Revelation 12:17; 19:10; 22:9)

    (c) To Reject a prophet's counsel is to reject God's consel (Luke 7:28-30)

    & finally,

  • (d) We are commanded to test prophets (not shun them) and follow their counsel if they speak and live in harmony with the Bible. (1 Thessalonians 5:20,21)

Conclusion: People who base their faith on "the Bible only" must follow its counsel regarding prophets. True prophets will always speak in harmony with the Bible (Isaiah 8:20). If I fail to listen to and test prophets, I am not basing my faith upon the Bible, which mandates doing so.

  • only one way acts.2:38

  • Ellen G. White says that if people read the Bible enough they would not need to read her writings and she sais that the Scriptures stand above her writings. A Prophet is someone who speaks words that were given from God. Ellen G. White wrote books where the words were given from God. This makes her a prophet but just because she once sinned or believed in things that were wrong does not prove that she is not a prophe but God helped her correct herself . Other prophets in the Bible also sinned.

  • @janzenandy77 Yes, prophets in the Bible have sinned, but they were NOT false prophets and that is where the difference is.

  • @kenzo5716 - Are you so SURE she was a false prophet? How do you SEE Daniel ch 8 and 9?? And Revelation 10; 12:17; 14:12; 19:10 - Mt 5:17.... The TRUTH is that most of us (sinners) don't want to search with all our hearts, yes or no? We should know our Bibles (if we believe in it) like we know the streets of our town. It's not enough to know about Jesus, we must know Him as a personal friend and saviour. Do we search for Him as we search for other things of this world? as for hidden treasure?

  • Seventh Dat Adventists own many hospitals. Do they perform abortions in these hospitals?

  • @janzenandy77 When you say that your words are from God and they are incorrect or contradict God then you are a false prophet. Ellen G. White was a false prophet. Nothing she said came from God.

  • @SideSwipez77 - Have you read her writings? I assumed you haven't, for to make such comment... Humbly I ask you, if you are able to explain what should happen at the fulfillment of the time prophecy of Daniel 8:14? Why do I ask? Not to debate, for sure, but to let people know that there are many voices that speak not knowing what they say. Here is the key: think of the connection between Enoch - Noah; Abraham - Moses; Jeremiah - Daniel; Daniel - John the Baptist; and Daniel - EGW (you'll be amaz

  • @janzenandy77- Wrong- Correction: Let me tell you this- The Bible is above the Spirit of Prophecy written by Ellen G. White. Her writings is pointing to the Bible. There is no equality. Yes, she is our prophet but she is still human being used by the Lord to call people from the world and from sin. Dr. Martin is out of mind while he talks on this interview. The SDA church believe the Holy Bible as the only creed of our religious denomination.

  • @janzenandy77

Yes prophets sinned, but remember the bible doesn't say...if the prophet sinneth believe him not...it says:

Deu 18:19-22 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require [it] of him. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die......

  • And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet SPEAKETH in the NAME of the LORD, if the THING FOLLOW NOT, NOR come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD hath NOT SPOKEN, [but] the prophet hath spoken it PRESUMPTUOUSLY: thou shalt NOT BE AFRAID of him.

So if the Lord never spoke it, and it doesn't come to pass, we're not to be afraid of him....and if a prophet declares to speak something the Lord did not command, he will die.

  • It is a very dangerous thing to declare that you are speaking for God, or in the name of God. He gives a very dire teaching here that if someone declares to speak in his name, and it doesn't come to pass, you are not to be afraid of him and he will die.

Ellen White spoke very boldly and declared she'd heard from the Lord, making bold claims like the Lord hath said, and they are no longer taught in the church today.

  • @janzenandy77 no a prophet that has faulse prophesies such as ellen g white and her end of the world perdictions and teachings that are in no way in harmony with the bible used to get stoned to death. ellen g white is clearly a faulse prophet its a no brainer guys. follow Gods word it stantds strong alone. repent and trust in jesus' finisehed work on the cross and you will be saved

  • Ellen G White was a woman of sincere faith but like many people of faith before her she was human. As someone brought up in the faith, I appreciate the positive aspects of Christian faith and emphasis on health and education passed on to me by the SDA church but I am first and foremost today a Christian, not because of Ellen G White but because I love Christ and the life example he left me. There is need for no other example, male or female. I either follow Christ or no one.

  • debate? more like an attack on the seventh day adventist

  • We are at the end, Christ is even at the door, the books have been opened and we stand in the judgment, Christ is soon to return to give every man according to their works. Judgment begins first at the house of God. Every person who ever took the name of christ is represented as those who will be judged (first)... We have nothing to fear if we have built our houses on the Solid Rock. Let us guard diligently our words... ready to give an answer for our faith: Christ in you the hope of Glory.

  • every person who decides to choose a church should be guided by those principles ("search the scriptures") to make that decision. As they grow in Christ they may need to make decisions, they may change their views, but every decision should be based on the Word of God; -which is TRUE FAITH and their decisions should ever be guided by the fact that Jesus made a great sacrfice for us that we may be saved and that our redemption was bought with the precious blood of God...

  • making any allegations that she is a false prophet and that SDAs are a cult. I did not grow up an Adventist but i believe they have a unique message that upholds primitive protestantism... 'sola scriptura' ...Protestantism sets the power of conscience above the magistrate, and the authority of the word of God above the visible church. Noone has all the light but these primitive principles are what we should be guided by. every church should set forth a statement of fundamental beliefs,

  • and see visions. There are simple tests that we are proof test the prophets by. To the law and to the Tesimony Isa 8:20... Sister White as a 'supposingly' fairly 'modern' prophet, i believe is fits the first test. Of our recent prophets and ministers she totally magnifies the law, yet sets forth the beauty of the message of righteousness by faith. I have not yet seen in her writings anything to disproove this simple test and any of the others. I think each should do the test for themself before

  • @apopyalips

    Amen!

  • @apopyalips lol! good question! catholics worship on a sunday, they go to church and then do as they please, carrying on as normal. seventh day adventists worship on a saturday, but they take a whole day off to worship and celebrate the sabbath! thats only a feew of the differences of both of them! anyone else who knows more please add on! I would also like to know this interesting question as well...;P

  • @MsFobstar If you read any Catholic Catechism- The Roman Catholic Church proudly confesses to changing the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. And isn't it interesting that Dan 7:25 says that the antichrist would "think to change times and the law"? Guess which of the 10 Commandments is both a "Time" and a "Law"...

  • @StMaule The 4th commandment!!!! lol :) am I right?

  • @MsFobstar You said it. If that's not true and the change is in the Bible then Show me.

  • @StMaule its true, I think they even practised the sabbath BEFORE the ten commandments was written. says somewhere in moses.

  • @MsFobstar You're right The 10 Commandments did exist since B4 Mount Sinai. How was it that Joseph know adultry was a sin B4 MT Sinai? (Gen39;9). How can Cain be guilty of the sin of Murder B4 Mt Sinai? (Gen 4;6-10). How was it that Jacob Knew full well not to have other Gods B4 Mt Sinai? (Gen 35;1-4). Where there is no Law there is no sin (Rom4;14 & Rom7;7). How Can I get a speeding Ticket if there is no speed limit?

  • I say Christians need to go back to the real sabbath AND hold steadfast to the scripture.

  • First of all a woman is not to be in authority or leadership position over men in the church so that shows that whole religion to be false anyway.

  • @brianbmf: EGW didn't have authority in the SDA church.

  • man, my friends back in school argued better than this adventist guy, he's a joke... Im not surprised ppl wud think of SDA as a cult after seeing this

  • This is Astonishing.

Who can watch this video, see through the pathetic irrational lies.. and STILL be an ADVENTIST?

(Please - i'd love to know how you're still hanging on to this cult...)

  • HOLDON!!!!!!! (5:40) Where on earth did this guy EVER get the idea that ELLEN G. WHITE CORRECTS SCRIPTURE?!?!?! She never claims that, and if people do claim that, they are COMPLETELY misrepresenting Ellen G. White's attempt at CLARIFYING scripture. not REPLACING it. I sense deception here...

  • @JRocka114 The big problem is WHY ON EARTH DID ELLEN WHITE NEED TO CLARIFY THE SCRIPTURE???!!!!! That attack directly the JOB OF HOLY SPIRIT WORKING IN EVERY SINGLE CREATURE WHO RECEIVE IT, IN ORDER TO START A PROGRESSIVE PROCESS. THE BIBLE DECLARES "MANY WOMEN AND MEN, YOUNG AND OLD" WILL BE ABLE TO PROPHETIZE, NOT ONLY ONE PERSON!!! WORK OF PROPHET, AFTER THE BIBLE IS NOT NEW REVELATIONS, BUT ADMONITIONS, LIKE THE PROPHETS IN OLD TIMES. All who deny the Holy Spirit like THE SEAL is in DANGER!!

  • @LikeGedeon She needs to clarify it because the church got to a point where people didn't read they're Bibles anymore. And this problem still hasn't gone away. But another thing is she fills in alot of the details that the Bible leaves out that make it easier to understand.

  • Sola Scriptura

  • (P.S.Satan loves it when Christians argue and bicker, so lets not make him happy :P)

  • So, to all the skeptics out there, first and foremost it's vital to have a true personal relationship with God in which you pray and genuinely seek the truth. It can be a long strenuous process, and the fallen one will deter you once he knows you want the truth, but if you honestly seek it, God won't hide it from you Amen! I'll be praying for you, and either way we are all children of Christ, of one body spirit and church.

  • Also, Adventist Apocalyptic Prophecy (Daniel and Revelation) Is completely inspired, based, deduced, and so perfectly proven it seems scientific. As an ex-skeptical non-believer, and Historian wannabe (hehe), aside from my personal relationship with God, nothing was more power and real to me in convincing of the Lords awesome existence and Love. It wasn't E.G White, It was the Bible. Yes E.G. White is a prophet, no we don't worship her.

  • HI everyone. i just wanted to say that I'm a christian first and foremost, but recently became an Adventist. As someone who didn't grow up in the Adventist church, i can tell you that the Adventist creed is to be bible centered, which is what drew me in, not E.G.White lol This creed alone lets you discover Biblical truths like the Sabbath and Apocalyptic Prophesy. On top of that, i haven't met a single person that emphasizes E.G White more than the Bible.
