I dont get why johnson gets killed by the monitor at the end of halo 3. Master chief gets hi multiples times and get back up. Sgt. johnson is a spartan 1, as revealed in ghosts of onyx. so why does he go down with one hit?

halo reach takes place right before halo 1, when the pillar of autumn comes out of slipspace to escape from reach. Just about every spartan died at the deffence at Reach. the covenant basically tortched the entire planet.... it was also home to the UNSC's naval bases, and ONI Facility CASTLE, were the spartan I, II, and III program were born.

@Honorthedeceased halsey had no idea about the spartan-III program untill her and Kelly-087 crash-landed on Onyx. all she knew was that there were spartans that "weren't her's" like NOBLE team, GAUNTLET team, and ECHO team but did not know that they were spartan-III's. she WAS, though, graduating a second class of spartan-II's... but did not get enough funds
