@GreeneNatives Yes, the BB's travel at high velocities and when they hit you feel it. Paintball is a different sport entirely, it is more of a game. With airsoft you get all the realism of being in a real combat situation but without the risk of being killed or injured.

@rougecards I've been hit with paintballs and been hit with airsoft pellets by my 10 year old brother-in-law. The paintballs hurt a hell of a lot worse. They even leave nice little purple and red bruises that immediately begin oozing. You still cant tell if you've hit someone else with airsoft pellets, they just bounce off.

@GreeneNatives First of all, pellets and BB's are 2 different things. Second, your brother in law was probably using some backyard cheep airsoft gun. What was its FPS? Most BB's shoot at a higher FPS then paintballs.

@hazeel11 ...... that is not recoil.... when your phone rings and vibrates does that mean it is recoiling every time you get a call? recoil is caused by a cartridge firing in the chamber which in turn pushes the weapon in the opposite direction, air rifles, bb guns, and crossbows jump back or up from the motion of operating parts...... it is NOT recoil!

@Blandy086 ask your self this. Why does a gun have recoil? the pressure from the ignited cartridge pushes both the gun and the bullet in contradicting directions. When a crossbow or bb gun shoots, it too is pushing both the projectile and the gun in contradicting directions from the pressure it creates. The only difference between bb guns, crossbows, and any other type of gun for that matter, is it may use air pressure or string instead of powder. Technically everything you listed is recoil.

The piston is a heavy weight piston, self built or not, idk. BUT this is AEG, not gas, and it uses a Heavy piston to creat blow back feeling. ive made this before. its HORRIBLE for the gun internals and destroys ur gun...

Ok first off dry firing does hurt your gun if it occurs for a prolonged period of time and only a retard would do that with a quality aeg. Secondly you can dry fire for a period of time without damage but it is not a recommended thing and most people shoot without ammunition being fed into the gun.

Alright captain idiot, imagine the gun as a baseball player. if you swing and hit the ball, it sends it flying and your arms feel contact and the power doesnt cause any problems. If you swing at full power and you miss, all that power is gonna strain your arms because the force wasnt exerted on anything. Now imagin doing that over and over again really fast.

I repair air soft guns so let me explain this:

the motor drives three gears, the last gear pulls the spring and when the teeth end the spring is released..

when the spring is released it creates air pressure that pushes the bb.. and when there's no bb it's just air, so.. it has the same impact on the gearbox as if you fire it with bbs..

in fact!! it's worse to fire with bbs, because they leave fragments inside the barrel.. and that is what the cleaning rod is for..

Almost every one in the world knows what paintball is.. well these "fake" guns are used for airsoft.. less people know it, but more people play it(compared to paintball).. so these guns and this sport is my hobby, it's fun and at the same time you get a pretty good exercise..
