  • @finathang i try not to pay attention to people visiting unless they have questions. i just go in and do my job. people do talk to gravestones.

  • @finathang working in cemetaries is not all that you think it is..alot of work..we dont work at night and the bodies are placed in new york state in concrete vaults except for the jewish faith.

  • How did you get this job? I'd like to be one too.

  • @oublik by luck..but its alot of work that can tire you out...it can be a tougher job than you think at times

  • thank you for writing. well, i dont know about changing weed eaters..my boss does all decisions like that..but its a job i dont mind doing in these parts...especially when its cemetaries with family and friends buried in them.

  • My dad's ground level military marker is smaller than that and it had a footing poured for it.

'fraid yer gonna have another sinker with this one bro.

  • well, it may take some time to sink! it depends on the soil its on and how it was placed it into the ground..winter frost doesnt help either in these parts..thanks for stopping into my world.

  • Hello,John.

Nice job to have. Always going to be a need. You are doing a service for the dead, kee[ing their plots clear. Does NY have cemetery signs denoting Historical ones? RI does.

  • i'm sure there is..but in massena there are no markers like that...massena seems to forget about the past..

  • This is a great vid! Very interesting. So that's why you have a fascination with cemeteries?

  • since i was a small kid...no idea why..i remember having a dream that there was a cemetery in back of my house was i was like five years old -- when their wasnt any. i guess i was dreaming about my furture!

  • Honors for this video (1)

  • well, louie, i dont know if its a cool job...its more of a routine for me. only part-time. its a job that can be difficult at times..

  • Is your boss Joe??

  • joe has been my boss on and off since 1997. he is retiring soon from this cemetary. he has buried every member of my family since 1971.

  • I have a new appreciation of your job. I've seen old graveyards that have allowed trees and tree roots to overtake grave sites so I appreciate that you make the grave sites more acceptable to families visiting their loved ones. And such a lot of physical work! Do you have any assistance? Some grave stones can be very heavy.

  • thank you
