I thought that "worm" was piss funny! 1970s Griffith should be proud they had such a star in the making. If that worm was around today, he would be drinking xxxx.
You guys say they must've spent all their money on the studios. That and the test card. You have the news readers doing this kids show. Multi tasking keeps the budget down. As I said earlier NBN3 in Newcastle left 'em for dead
nbn television had the best kids shows like the breakfast club later became Saturday funday later became the early birds show that introduce big dog a send up of fat cat
God this is like the 1950's approach to local TV (what I've often read about it here in the states). Such a cheap film-chain they had as well for those slides to often need to be manually adjusted due to the improper brightness levels.
Oh Fark! Where in NSW was this? Even NBN 3 in Newcastle was better than this! Who did the guy leave his Bow tie to? AUD$15.00 for two three course meals? I shudder to think what it was. the kids in the birthday book must be in their 30's now, hope it embarasses the crap out of them! I can almost walk to Magnetic Island at low tide, no biggie there.
Great stuff.Seems like MTN was about 20 years behind the times, even for the late 70s-early 80s.There production budgets must of been about zero, although there studios (for MTN's size)look impressive from the aerial footage shown in the news openings.
A few regionals were in dire financal straits even in the 70's Which explains the merger between coffs 11 and Lismore 8 and MTN merged programming with Orange/Dubbo.
Wow... a TELEPHONE EXCHANGE?!?

Geez, MTN-9 must've been running on a VERY tight budget-they use the news presenters for the kid's programming!

A bit scary that the competition winner has their address read out on air.

Man that's a blast from the past. Mind you you probably remember Buttons The Cat. A Mate of mine told me he was the NBN mascot before Big Dog.

He has the same personality as the crow from Shirley's Shop (was that the show's title?)

Yes NRN-11 and RTN-8 merged to form NRTV. No Southern Cross Ten
And yes CBN-8 Orange merged with CWN-6 Dubbo and MTN-9 Griffith to form Mid State Television. Which is now WIN except for CBN Orange which is Prime

They probably spent up all the production budget on the studios!
