@BootuT Remember one slithgly thing beetween ATI and nVIDIA...that my friend...ATi is graphically better but lower performance nVIDIA graphically slightly good but performance quite high for this reason nVIDIA is made for old PC's ATi for new and powerfull computers u have an HD3870 just to play games that requires only Pentium 4 the others are not playable the best thing u can do is overclock ur CPU and buy 2 more GB RAM...Be sure u run games on XP or OLDER WINDIWS for no lag 7 and vista lags..

What? A modern gaming PC requires a minimum of a i3 2100 and a GTX 560 Ti. An AMD card isn't going to be an option if you can afford the 560 Ti. Why? It's the best bang for your buck. Even though AMD offers a bit better price/performance ratio when it comes to graphics cards, they have more problems with certain games as NVIDIA tends to bribe developers to make the games suit NVIDIA cards better.

Reinstall Windows, I bet you can't clean it up to a state where it doesn't lag. Now you should have XP or Windows 7. Then install the game and patch it to the newest version. If you still lag, get a Sandy Bridge processor and a GTX 560 Ti/Radeon HD 6950.

You don't have to buy that kind of stuff to make it run smooth. 2600K is a stupid thing to buy because it's $100 more than 2500K with the only difference being Hyperthreading, which doesn't help in games. Second, 400-series is old. Buy 500 series. Third, the newest patches to GTA IV make the graphics/performance ratio very good. You don't realize how much geometry this world has, objects and view dist?

Is this a Socket-775 P4 or a Socket-478 P4, because that would make a HUGE difference in performance. Im guessing its a Socket-775 because of the GPU your using would not work on a motherboard with Socket-478.

@otacon1994 - Your graphics card is fine for the game m8, but your CPU is a bit dated - GTA 4 loves quad cores - If u have the cash I'd make a new build with an i7 - 930 but keep your graphics card it's decent enough for GTA 4 and most games nowadays. But to answer your question - yes you'll be able to run it but you will most likely encounter stuttering and the CPU will hold back your graphics card. So i'd recommend upgrading your CPU to a quad core. - Hope this helps :)
