I don't quite see what occult imagery has to do with 40s music. My film student friend would probably watch this over and over for hours on end, because he is into obscure music and strange imagery. Plus when I was younger, I thought one of the dancers looked like Molly Shannon of SNL, who he absolutely adores.
I sing this song for Karaoke! I didn't realise that I was from the same town as them! I use to live in Eugene, Oregon for a couple years before joining the Marine Corps!
@Xantre07 In fact I am singing it in competition Tuesday Night! Oh this is rich-so rich! Cherry poppin' Daddies. If you're ever in the area of Sneads Ferry, NC- Come on out and have a good time at Lorelei's Pub and Grill! I'll see you there!
@darklillithca Wouldn't you be rather old then for the average YouTube commenter? You would have had to have been born in the 50s or 60s if your dad was a 40s swing dancer.
@browncoat697 I was unaware that there was an age ceiling for YouTube, I must have missed that memo when I was out shopping for my Geritol ;) Yes, I was born in the late 50's; my father was born in the late 20's.
I am 52 years old and I'm pretty sure I still have all my marbles in their bag.
@mightystu49 yeah.......it seems that this video have a touch of satanic......I'm a bit confused......I didn't knew there is a link between swing and satanism.......is there such a lnk or it just thins song! Guess i better get back to Gleen Miller and Dean Martin! LOL
I'm going to see this band live on Thursday night....can't wait....I just discovered them....I'm also learning Lindy Hop/Swing....it's so much F U N !!! :)
@Metalhead197 It's great for theatre nerds like myself, those who do/used to get teased for being into musicals and the like, but you're right re: ruin another classic song. Speaking of, Bell Biv Devoe's Poison was always a guilty pleasure song of mine. Now kids have it on their ipod. All because Mr Shue sung it.
People making fun of anyone listening to this song need to learn the spelling of "music" ... I listen to everything possible under the sun....and this song still rules my library. !!!! And I sing it too... in the original tone. !!!! So Keep listening.... over and over again Emmy. !!!!!
WOW!!! My parents prolly wouldn't like the images, but I know they'd like the song... my dad played a bass back in the 40's and 50's... this IS my Dad's rock-n-roll.
where have I been ? I noticed these guys are headlining the Tulsa Mayfest tomorrow night (my hometown) and so since I hadn't heard of them I came to youtube and LO AND BEHOLD they F-ING-A ROCK. what a song what a band. Dear God, Don't ever let swing die !
The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Squirrel Nut Zippers and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Brian Setzer was the front man for the Stray Cats which is where the line " Stray Cat frontin' out an eight piece band" in this song comes from.
CPD IS still together; later in the year they plan to (or at least have announced to) release their second compilation album, sixth studio album, an EP and tour Australia.
@Musicality14 Just because it's not "popular" doesn't mean you can't listen to it. I'm sure there's gotta be some swing bands out there right now. Indie music is pretty big right now.
I agree, the first one was definitively better, it was more bright and active and matched the song quite well.
