Corin did great! You can see she was nervous at first....but near the end of it when she got her confidence she rocked it out! They both have a such a vibrato, I was always curious to what they would sound like together. Neat find!

That said, Corin Tucker has an INSANE voice and you shouldn't be suprised at getting a lot of thumbs downs for making a blanket statment. she did VERY well, especially considering the fact that-- in operatic terms-- she is a spinto/dramatic soprano.

so yeah, she was singing a bit out of her range, especially in the beginning, but even then, she has a POWERFUL mastery over her own voice.

i've actually had a few music teachers who have called Corin's voice a "female version" of Eddie Vedder's-- not knowing that the two even know one another.

Corin Tucker usually sings much, much higher. Eddie Vedder's baritone range has got to be an extremely difficult register for her (or any woman) to sing. She also seems a bit uncomfortable without her guitar.

But she did. She's singing the same parts Cornell did. That pitch is very high for a man, but not for a woman, at least not until the "banshee" parts in the final verse. Ironically, she sounds better there than on the second verse, where the male vocals are hard for her. But as with anything else Corin Tucker does, passion trumps technical perfection.
