  • Schofield is just one of my favorites :D

    Good guy.

    Great music.

    Peace :D

  • really awsome loved it godbyone

  • Some people can teach people something like Matt, unlike mister Bonnamassa. Thanks for uploading this !

  • what are the chords please...?

  • groovy!

  • Matt is great! Greetings from Portugal, Francisco Abreu.

  • that was awesome ....thank you ...ya gave me something to think about and work on ...you sir ...ROCK!

  • You are one of my top three favorite young guitarists. I see a steadily climbing music career in front of you. Keep it classy and try not to over indulge...

  • Great stuff, this guy is well informed. He's using lots of tri tone subs, It definitely spices up you blues progression. I just found this guy recently, he's incredible at his instrument

  • I want that amp so badly!!!!

  • @csbart You can't help that. But what does it have to do with Matt?

  • Yes, but PLEASE say what those cool chords are as you go! Showing us how cool they sound doesn't teach us how to play them, or where.

  • Dude, he does... He says its 5 and 6 chords

  • Maybe you don't understand what I mean. Many of those chords have tensions and interesting voicings. But they go by so quickly, they're too hard to pick up. I want to know what some of those individual chords are.

As said by someone else, he's using tritone subs in places. OK, great, but that doesn't help me much. What are the specific ones in the video itself? He's a good player, just don't call it a "master class" if you're not doing any teaching.

  • You're taking the video out of context! It wasn't filmed by him for YouTube. It's a small excerpt taken from a Guitar Techniques Magazine DVD. There was a full transcription and article in the mag to go along with it, and other videos. Maybe you should buy the magazine if you want to know more!

  • And I was supposed to know this how? Maybe if it said any of that info in the description of the vid....

  • @gdw3 Look up some 13th chords, 9ths, flat and sharp ninths, they can all be used in place of seventh chords. I use this about as much or more then sevenths now.

  • its nice to see guitar players who can both play jazz and blues at once.

  • Great video!!! Very nice of you. Thanks so much for posting:)

    Grandma mary

  • Very interesting...

  • Love blues.

  • this is from the guitarist magazine issue 277 dvd, i was watching it last night! matt rules at smooth blues, i love the strat too!! omg!

  • is there somewhere I could get that? or does he only have that little segment in it shown here

  • great vid for bored blues players. we need more stuff like this don't we?

  • thanks for takin time to share the music!
