Steve. I can't get enough of this Video!!! YOU ARE, SIMPLY AMAZING and Blow Me Away!!! And that's hard to do when your WAY-OVER 350+ Pounds, LOL. We BOTH Huge SUPER-STRONG-PROUD, Heafty Fellers...
Do you like ELP's Pictures?!! One of my: ALL-TIME Favorites and my introduction to ELP. Was at my Mothers friends house who happened to be an Audiophile (He inspired me also to become an Audiophile also, to boot) and he had ELP's pictures! Was just a teen and before pictures had NEVER heard of ELP. Was HOOKED the second I heard that album...!!! Wow. To love Audio and get your first taste of ELP!!! A match made in heaven...!!!
S W E E T!!!! damn it, i want 2 tymps. in the last 8 yrs I've owned 35-40 kits & 150+ paistes, and litterally TONS of percussion, but never a kettle. DOH! STEVE, you are now my favorite amature? youtube drummer.
Five star perfomance! And sounds very well! Not only You are good, but Your cam mic too.
It is far my fav from ELP. I mean the whole Toccata. (According to me the studio version is the better, not the concert one, while eg. Tarqus is much better in concert.)
Thanks a lot, and best wishes to you from the U.S., GBWagner1. I agree, the studio version of Toccata is better, but the live" Welcome Back..." version of Tarkus is much better. I was surprised with the sound I obtained with the mic on the video recorder. It's a stereo mic, and that helps, a lot. You'll want to check out Kerry Schacklett performing Toccata. Type in ELP: Toccata~ Kerry Schacklett. You will not believe your ears!
FANTASTIC...I thought I was listening to my old album again. Man I was glad when I finally located that great 3-disc album on CD...it took years, but was well worth it. One question though Steve, do you plan on doing the engraving that Carl had on his drums too??
Hi, again Worldofdrumz! I am still in debate about having the engravings done on the drums. I am still trying to obtain better footage and/or photos of the drums set than what is available in the DVD's and photos that I have, so that I can construct the consoles which hold the drums and cymbal rods. I can't believe that no one did a story on the drum set, here in the U.S. The only one I know of was in "Drums" magazine, 1974. Such a shame since it was the first stainless steel set ever!
Thanks a ton, Chaz955! Tarkus is on my agenda, although I don't know it will turn out. The drums may drown out the music, so, will have to experiment. Thanks again!
Damn...I'm gonna hafta find the time to put our videos together and add the guitar/synth duet. In fact, since the audio on my video is kinda crummy I'll have to redo it, which means rehearsing the piece, which I haven't played in six months. See how you are?
LOL! Sorry about that. :0) It actually came out a LOT better than I thought it would, since the camera is so far away from the instruments. Wish I owned a jet, Kerry. So many people want to hear/see us perform ELP together. I'd pack my instruments up, and head out that way" in a New York second"!
Great work Steve, I am very much impressed. Fantastic audio quality. So when will you and Kerry play together? A lot of people would love that. 5 Stars! Hope you will post more videos soon.
Another GREAT one, Steve. I am so jealous of your equipment, (and talent!). I could hear the Emerson part in my head playing right along with your tympani glides! 5 stars.
