I feel bad for people who don't get what happened in the last regular season game of 2011, or in game 6 of the '11 world series, or in game 5 of the cardinals' NLDS.
Hey Baltimore, did you guys just win the World Series? O wait, that's right, you won 69 games and continue to be completely irrelevent to the game of baseball. Stop celebrating like you just won something meaningful.
Hey Tampa, I applaud you on your comeback, well done. But goddamnit if you are going to make a comeback like that, don't just lose in the first round. Holy hell you guys, after like 12 or so years of finishing last, don't completely blow your playoff opportunities
@bruinshockey4life1 Hey Brainchild, Baseball teams celebrate walk-offs...first game of the year or last game of the year, it doesn't matter. Sorry it had to happen to your precious little Sox, but I'm so glad the O's buried you mfers. It was so great to see Pink Hat Nation crying their collective eyes out. Like Andino said during the on-field celebration "Get the f*ck out!". That message was directed at you and your pink hat wearing friends. Curse of the Andino.
@OsnRavens enjoy winning 65 games next season. we will be making the playoffs, because the sox are a meaningful team with actual talent. unlike the orioles, who continue to suck. hell, we have more fans at your home games, your team is an absolute joke so don't even try to feel proud about anything
@bruinshockey4life1 Die hard O's and proud of it...and I got to say, it's better than being some pink hat, bandwagon f*ck. And believe me, you couldn't pay me to sit in that sh*thole of stadium. Sox aren't making the playoffs...can't wait for the O's to f*ck you right in the ass, just like last year. lol. Karma bitch, your team deserved ever bit of it. Sox lost their two best pieces, Epstein and Francona ...Valentine will lose that clubhouse and it's fans by June...book it.
@bruinshockey4life1 I'm not acting like the O's are good...I know what they are, I follow them year in and year out. If anything you should be pissed at your own team...beat the teams your supposed to beat. Sox fans like to put that last play on Crawford, but Papelsuck needs to throw better pitches to both Reimold and Andino. It couldn't have happened to a nicer pitcher...him and his stupid ass stare. Phillie fans will eat him alive if he sucks.
@OsnRavens There were a lot of reasons why we collapsed last year. I hate it when people blame it on one guy or a play. Everyone (besides Gonzalez, Ellsbury and Pedroia) played poorly in Sept. But I am not thinking about that, I am moving forward and I like where the team is going right now.
Don't start criticizing my team when the O's have been trapped in the basement for a decade.
Despite that, I really do have to give you credit for staying true. That's tough to do when the team sucks
come to think of it.. im only 15. this will be a year of baseball i will make my grandchildren watch with me. proud to be a lifelong cards fan! cant wait for march 5th
I'm too afraid to watch this. I've never seen the video of Dan Johnson or Evan Longoria HR, I followed on the computer, was too scared to watch live. Havent seen a replay of the final pitch in BOS-BAL since it happened that very night. As a Red Sox fan can't bear watching it again and re-living that night.
@sunjum96 i didnt notice it at first because of the foul pole being kinda in the way, but i noticed it the 2nd time... thats the wrong way to catch a home run lol
@crazyindian8 No one said it was wild or exciting. It was an epic night, not an epic game. While the two games the ARE covered in this video were great games, what makes them epic is what they accomplished, a crazy comeback in the wild card race.
@crazyindian8 You must be mentally ill. The score of the game itself is irrelevant. What's important is how they completed a wild comeback on the final days of the season.
I'm a Jays fan, & even I believe this was probably one of the BEST nights ever in baseball :-) All the dramatics, extra innings, last-at-bat heroics, & ALL the games were on TV at the same time! It was insane! It was great for baseball because people were saying that there wasn't anything exciting about baseball in September, but then the wildcard races got closer, & then BANG! In one night, it got crazy! Fun stuff...ANY baseball fan can say this was great for the sport :-)
I fell asleep with the Sox up 3-2 and the Rays down 7-0 believing that we would win the Wild Card and face Texas...woke up, put on ESPN, and the first thing I saw was "COLLAPSE". I shut off the TV and went back to bed, burying my head on my Red Sox pillow.
2:15 I COULDNT EVEN SEE THAT!!! I had to rewind 8 times for cryin' out loud. How did that Umpire even see it??? thats ridiculous. I'm glad Boston lost though. :)
Well the CHAMPIONS you're forgetting of course.Don't ever insult the best team in history again!!!We put a whipping on every team that THOUGHT they had a chance!! It was complete, and utter devastation!!!
Cardinals:The LEGENDARY,The almost MYTHOLOGICAL,THE MOST ULTIMATE BASEBALL TEAM IN HISTORY!!. ALL BASEBALL PLAYERS ARE EXTRAORDINARY,THAT'S WHY THEIR IN THE BIG LEAGUES! What happens when the extraordinary players put on a Cardinal uniform?? They are molded into a team by forces they don't understand at first, but in time they become one of the few handful of players that play enlightened to a different level.Cardinals are the GODS of baseball, and the FANS are the force that drives them to WIN!!!
Every time I hear that greenday song now I'll always think of this collapse (vice versa). Thanks! Lol great video even though I like the red sox. I'm a Cubs fan. Cheer up Boston, at least y'all can compete Lol
From the night of Game 162 to Game 7 of the World Series was exactly 30 days....I can't imagine any sport, except for maybe college basketball, ever having a month like baseball just did.
The Braves gagged away their playoff berth to the Cardinals just as badly as the Red Sox did to the Rays. If the media would have hyped that the same way, the Cardinals might have let their guard down and been satisfied with merely making the playoffs. The Cards really thrived under the radar.
@justice4all371 The Braves problem was that they were forced to throw inexperienced players to the wolves (their rotation had been decimated by injuries); the Red Sox had their veterans mostly healthy.
@bountyhunter40 The umpire said the pitcher balked. Once he is on the rubber and in the set position his next movement has to be towards home plate. This John Henry cocksucker can now take his place alongside Angelos. Fuck him and his whole shit ass team. I hope his cock breaks off in Epstein's ass during their final ass fuck session. Good for Tito, hope he lands good.
When Dan Johnson hit that shot, it sent shivers down my spine. Down the line, w/ topspin, just gets over the fence. But with 2 outs, I thought, damn, the Rays cant lose this after that 8th inning. But I remembered Dan Johnson, I thought how the hell do I remember him, because everyone else in the room didn't even know who he was. I remembered him hitting a walkoff homerun a year ago, and remember how composed he was for a nobody. I had a little faith, & it ended up being an identical shot.
that day was THE BEST DAY EVER for a baseball fan, two historical collapses, who the hell whould of thought the red sox and the braves would blow their lead, and miss the playoffs. i thought the '07 mets collapse was bad, boston/atlanta is even worse. this is why im a baseball fan, what a day that was
Thanks for the comments everyone, this one night is shaping up to be better than the playoffs as a whole. Though they have had some great moments this last night of the season was epic!
@david05111 Yeah great game! Love baseball when you have games like these. I am definitly rooting for the Rays. They are on a good run and it just might be there year!
Hey thanks for post. Im a Rays Fan here in Tampa and that was wild night in Baseball. Wow that night goes down in history in Baseball. Good luck to your Padres next year.
I was there at the Rays game; insane night, pure magic. But, the Rays owe a huge, huge portion of it to the Yankees for doing their part sweeping the sox, pulling their starters in the game last night, and leaving the door open for the rays to do something. If the Yankees wanted that game, they would have sent in Roberson, Soriano, or Rivera; there's no way that the rays score 6 in the 8th if the Yankees care about the game. Still, the Rays got the hits when they needed them. Magic.
Am i the only one that noticed the message that said that the tampa bay rays were eliminated? 5:39

Magic.
