Did the 1991 feud between Warlord and Bulldog use that lame "who has the better finisher (in this case, the running powerslam)?" I distinctly remember Warlord using the full nelson around this time as a finisher.
I think the date on this video is wrong or the commentator botched because Hulk Hogan was not the champion at 2/19/1991. He didnt Win the belt until March 31st 1991. Sgt Slaughter was Champion since January 19 until Hogan took it
@cavemac1 That is incorrect. Up until his match against Davey Boy Smith at Wrestlemania 7, The Warlord was on an undefeated streak in singles action, at least on television. From his transformation from tag team to singles competitor in March 1990, to March 1991, Warlord was pushed heavily. Koko B Ware had been a jobber to the stars since early 1990.
Oh I appreciate guys like Warlord being a good sport about not having top tier status.
I just thought that it would have been more realistic if the match was shorter and Warlord had beaten Koko with a high impact power move or submission. Don't get me wrong-I'm not saying it should have been a one sided squash match like when Vader beat Vega when he had first arrived on the scene.
@benyo112 Yeah, but a little unpredictability wouldn't have hurt. 99% of the matches had unsurprising outcomes: either the face(s) was going to win (sometimes by cheating) or the heel(s) (rarely) would win, always by cheating.
Or the face would win because of a stupid DQ, i.e., Jake beating Andre in Wrestlemania 5. Obviously Andre wasn't going to win that match cleanly, and probably 99% of the people in the crowd knew it.
It's funny how Warlord, Dibiase, Mr. Perfect, Greg Valentine, etc., were supposed to be great wrestlers, but the only faces they could consistently beat were people like Koko B. Ware, Blue Blazer, and so on.
Warlord here proving to be the superior athlete here in everyway. Doesnt look to me like Frankie could save coco from the beat down thats about to commence.
Poor Koko, I think Frankie would have beaten him! I remember when Jesse Ventura used to call him 'Buck wee' because Koko could not pronounce 'Butch Reed'!
KOKO B WARE IS A HOMOSEXUAL

Even though he won, this match is another example of how Warlord was underutilized in the WWF.
Does anyone not think that this match shouldn't have lasted more than 4 minutes?
