yes, both the ipod and sportband sensor. Never tried both at the same time, but yes, same sensor...

Yeah, it is $60 for the Nike+Sportband and ($149 iPod 4Gig) ($29 Nike+) $180 for Nike+ iPod gear. I love the iPod and would NEVER have the band over the iPod!!! We got the best deal!

The idea is to use the band for races where an ipod is banned. Like marathons and still be able to have the same info. Distance, pace, time elapsed, calories burned, etc.
