  • @MrACDC1997 - Chuck Norris wants to be friends with Clapton...

  • Clapton seems to be friends with everyone!

  • Is missing Jack Bruce who wrote and sang the song originally.

  • Is missing some ginger in this version....

  • I must say respectfully, Better than the Cream version. More soulful in my most humble opinion. Thank you for sharing this!

  • Nathan East on bass is also doing backing vocals (which you forgot to note in the description). He does a fantastic job of it to. It's not an easy part to sing in that high register. Great concert overall, although it was played at a slower temp than the recording - but perhaps that was intentional, to suit Knopfler who excels at slower tempo magic (like 'The telegraph Road' & 'Brothers in Arms').

Great quality vid and thanks for sharing!

  • Knopfler looks a lil bit like Ry Cooder ^^

  • This version is not as tight as the other.

  • SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • Clapton is God

  • tbh i was hoping that knopfler was going to rip out a killer solo...but i guess he knew he would just blow clapton away..which would have been embarrassing for them both...so he never bothered...

    .

    JK!! xD

  • Am I the only one who presses the like button everytime he revisits these videos just in case he hasn't already?

  • @Kommando786 no,youre not alone

  • I heard this version before I heard the cream version so to me this is correct and the other seems too fast! haha

  • classic song but not sure on the slow (hand) version. nice wah-wah effects. try searching `white room live 1986` for a live concert in birmingham or wembley (with phil collins). fantastic

  • My mother used to say to me, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." I wish everyone on YouTube followed that advice. No decent human being cares about a negative opinion.

  • best version of this ive seen is off 24 night's ;)

  • Wow people, who cares about it being to slow or having the wrong effects? It's good to listen to and it's Knopfler/Clapton!! Can't get better!

  • 2 people listen to the worse music ever

  • why does this only have 78 likes?

  • @Dudestar321 the question is why it have 2 dislike

  • I feel like he sings this slower version with more heart. I fuckin' love it, but I can see why some don't.

Also, why is there a thumbs down button on this video?

  • thats the most fucken annoying wah-wah tone i ever heard......way over the top, sounded like shit in my opinion and i like Clapton !

  • Too f-ing slow...

  • CLAPTON IS GOD

  • i think its played very slow, but anyway, its great!

  • This ain't bad, but still like the 24 Nights version better, White room begs to be played rough and fast.

  • its very slow buy still awsome!!

  • Not a patch on 24 nights version...too slow, makes me fall asleep!

  • amazing eric but nowhere near raw enough

  • thats my buddy gesepi on the drums

  • Did you mean STEVE FERRONE, perhaps?

Steve was in Eric's touring band from 1987 to 1993.

  • kinda weird yet awesome that they count in the 5/4 section with only 4 beats

  • Comment removed

  • loved the solo, didn't really feel the distortion that was used, oh well.

  • Two gods

  • Two guitar Heroes!!!!

  • OMG HE USED HIS PINKY!!!!

  • who is the black guy?

  • Nathan East

  • It appears that Nate had grown his beard...

  • its abit slow

  • clapton could play it at 6 bpm and it would sound godly

  • that would be like uber slow dude...!

    but ur right

  • it doesnt matter. its clapton. he could play it at two bpm and it would still be the shit

  • omg that would be like uber slow!

  • im just sayin its slower than it usually is i know he can play slow and will be better than ever but im just sayin its slower than it normally is

  • @tommyboy200792 he played it that slow because of the wah-wah effect . he couldn't play it fast with that effect

  • fantastic

  • i never heaf understand why he put that amazing gibson SG name,d the fool the paint on it whas amazing a men from holland paint it it got awsome colors:-)

  • Wah Wah Solo LOL good find DogSwede1

  • thanks for posting

  • Clapton plays a fantastic solo here.

  • I TOTALLY AGREE, Clapton's fiery use of the wah-wah pedal is amazing, though he added a subtle early-to-mid 1980s flavor with a slight amount of chorus and flange.

Later, Eric stopped using chorus and flange as he opted for a cleaner sound.
