She has such a high Tkachev, she should do a giant with a full turn right after! (like semenova), and right after the stadler 1/2 to the jaeger direct to the pak salto :D.... how much does that would increase in her D score?
@tmwalkerm For the purpose you're suggesting, it is cosmetic mainly;I already told you why corrective surgery isn't possible. You're still insisting that you are absolutely correct without checking out the facts. That option applies to people from all walks of life, and her knees only cause a seperation of the ankles; they don't prevent her from walking at all. No ethical orthopedist would perform that surgery unless her knees were affecting how she walked, even if it affected her lines in
@xGymCouture I thought you can still do the bars with a foot injury (aside from landing) I know I've watched a bunch of videos of Aliya Mustafina working uneven bars with her leg brace/cast ish thing on. Not that I think Rebecca should be doing any better after the injury she still has a year and if any gymnasts needs to slow down and pace themselves it's her. If she does that she'll peak at the Olympics and be amazing. If not I'm afraid she'll burn out and blow up like she did here
She just looked EXHAUSTED in this competition to me - almost like she was just overtrained a little bit or something. But what do I know - it could have just been a bad day. I wish her a speedy recovery!!!
@bsquared2416 I think she pushes herself way too far. Some people said Valeri should have pulled her from this competition but I'm willing to bet she would of fought that tooth and nail. She practices more than anyone else and I think she seems to think she can just will her injury away or something... I do hope she is taking it easy adn doesn't come back too soon after her knee injury cause if she re injures it that could be career ending.
@ivonne1508 well we can't all be perfect and deal with pressure that easily. some do it well; like shawn and maybe chellsie. i feel bad for her; injuries; having a devastating dislocation in the vault. she's already very good being on the national team. but that being said; those "too many girls"..how do we even know they can do better than bec?
@ivonne1508 i agree!! she is soo good but she messes up a ton! which is really unfourtunate because like u said there are so many girls who would do anything to be in her place!
@ivonne1508 And you know what Making Mistakes is OK. This girl was picked cause she was brilliant. But it's so HARD competing infront of hundreds of people. She would be nervous, and they say that she does everything perfect in the practices. She has the potential. But I guess people like u, don't understand that. :( what a shame :P
@lilbaconstrip she does that because she has knock-knees, but it does look horrible. She's going to end up with permanent damage if she doesn't fix it.
@tmwalkerm I don't know what "fix" you're talking about, but most orthopedic specialists don't operate unless the genu valum is affecting a person's gait severely.I've seen Bross wear corrective braces in another video(an interview from 2009 called "The Next Nastia?"; her mother is a physical therapist.Even if surgery were possible,it'd involve additional months of rehab. If you absolutely despise watching her due to her lines & can't stand the injustice, then why bother commenting?
@starlight2917 then shame on her mother for not wanting it corrected, I guess she wants her daughter to have crippling pain once her gymnastic career is over....if in fact she is able to continue without pain and chronic injuries. I've seen what it can do to people and its hardly worth it, at least to them. But whatever, I'm entitled to MY opinion, agree with it or not, I don't care.
@tmwalkerm Okay, but I also have the right to validate your opinion for myself and try to prevent you from misguiding people. No offense intended, but unless you know Rebecca Bross and her family personally,it's kind of rude to assume that her mother"wants her daughter to have crippling pain".Her mom might do exercises with her daily or she might go to physical therapy even when she's not injured. The surgery would be a whole lot of pain for cosmetic purposes, and she's still growing.
@starlight2917 cosmetic purposes? Are you serious? This kid is an athlete, any other sport would demand that she get it fixed. Do you realize that there are people out there that are unable to walk because they left this type of condition untreated? Any decent coach would want their athlete to be in the absolute best physical condition they can possibly be in, regardless of what it takes. Just watch, in a few years Rebecca won't be able to do gymnastics at all, and her knees will be ruined.
@starlight2917 and its not misguiding people to state what I and everyone else can see for themselves, her knees are obviously going to be a source of pain, whether or not she does anything about it. Thats what's wrong with sports like that, the athletes put off getting surgery, medication, or what have you for the sake of something that may or may not even happen. I call it as I see it, rude or not, I prefer to call it honesty.
@tmwalkerm in gymnastics. Do you realize how much pain it would take to shorten and/or lengthen her tendons? What parent would want to put their kid through that at a young age without a guarentee that it would be permenantly corrected? At this meet, it was clear that Rebecca was pushing her body to its limits, limits, since she wasn't even able to compete bars at Classics a few weeks before.before.There were warning signs that a stress fracture could occur at the 2010 WC since Bross
@tmwalkerm was having shin pain throughout the entire meet even after nationals. If she had held back on training all four events and gotten proper physical therapy to increase mobility in her ankle, her knee dislocation probably wouldn't have happened. It was clear that she's taking the "push as long as I can withstand the pain approach" because that what the doctors of USAG told her to do after she wanted to compete at the WC. I'm not assigning blame, I'm just saying that you
@starlight2917 You don't need to assign blame, you've already said what would happen as a result of ignoring pain and chronic injuries. Nothing I say will change your mind, nor will anything you say will change how I feel. I'm just hoping that any medals she gets will be worth it in the end.
@lilbaconstrip she does that because she has knock-knees, but it does look horrible. She's going to end up with permanent damage if she doesn't fix it.
Rebecca has a story of too much falls in her career. If she not falls... but she is failing. I hope she be better, hope she come back of the injury of day2, but I think she have to works her psycologic. Shes a great gymnast, but not failing.
I think it's just that she hasn't had time to recover from injury, and she's out of the competitive mindset..She would've gotten a 9.0 had she not fallen.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Yeah, I know. Here's hoping finals go well for her tonight since Thursday just seemed like it wasn't the night for her, especially if you consider she fell on a back tuck. It's just bad luck and mental game, as well as ill preparation I guess (though it's not neccesarily all her fault). If there were a such thing as an injury fairy, I would've found it and punched it for her...this is her 3rd major recovery in the last 3 years.
@musiclove6781 Do you mean Rebecca or Ohashi lol? I still need to watch vids of Ohashi, but I'm so excited for her :D I can't believe she's only 13 and getting 9's for E-scores when she has a 7.2/7.3(?) d score.

Find it interesting how Tim always says, "I've never seen her fall" when someone falls off an apparatus. Guess he forgets former instances?

@leftygirl02 I thought he said he hadn't seen her fall on that release move in competition (or something to that effect).
