@PrincessOfTheSon The 1st century Jewish concept of a hand included the wrist. There was no seperation of the two. So if nails were driven into the wrists(as is historically accurate of crucifixions), the word used to describe this would be translated to us as "hands".
Jesus was not the only person to die on a cross. It was a common form of execution in the Eastern world up until the middle ages.
It was not as bad a death as being impaled on a sharpened post which had been set in the ground or being drawn and quartered. So maybe Jesus got of easy by some standards of cruelty. If there ever was a Jesus !
and btw, i do know friends of mine who are catholic who do this but my question is who is willing to fix what is broken and, make things right with Father?
