Are these the predasesor to Fur Berries? I had a white popple handed down to me from one of my brother's friends or my mom found it at a yard sale or thrift store. My brother's' girl friends often had no little sisters of their own, so they gave their hand-me-downs to me. I had the hardest time getting my popple to go back into a ball.

so I guess back in the 80's children weren't allowed to have stuffed animals, mattel seeing this injustice decide to create the popples: a stuffed animal that can be turned into a ball when the gestapo comes around for surprise inspections...
