my brother David was killed on June 25, 2006 by Sharon Hartley who ran him (and my sister in law Linda and his friend Tim) down with her truck and they were on their Harley's, this song makes me cry when I hear it, but also brings my brother close to me.
Thank you C, your kindness is so warming. David was my blessing from God! I find life so empty without him, but I know we will be together again. And Linda is still recovering, she lost her left leg, and other major injuries. Tim was also killed in the accident. She also got off scott free, So much for Oregon law.
My former girlfriend--who remained my best friend until her untimely death at 52 from brain cancer--was such a treasure to all that her passing inspired me to sponsor a class reunion two years before the 40th year of our graduation. I thought that anyone could go anytime--I was right--we lost 5 classmates between the 38th and 40th. I created a PowerPoint to this song that featured our 25 deceased classmates and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. One was hit-and-run after stopping to help out.

Karla Bonoff wrote this song for her beloved cat that disappeared from her house in Hollywood. Most likely from a predator coyote. I therefore dedicate this song to all my little rescue cats that have passed on over the years, especially Kittyboy. I hope anyone reading this will consider adopting a rescue animal or a neighborhood stray. They all need a place to call home and someone who will love them unconditionally. Have a heart.

If you listen to it, you will find that there is VERY little difference between the two versions. Same arrrangement, same tempo, the voice is a little different, but that's about all. Like 2 peas in a pod.

My dog Watson died December 31, 2009. He was a beautiful Springer Spaniel that was my friend for 16 and a half years.
He peacefully died in my arms and I now that he is gone, I miss him terribly.
He was the best thing in my entire life. Good Bye Watson. You are my HERO !!!! I love U !
