@muffdog1234 The Sine Law formula is a proportion. Yours is an equivalent proportion to the one I used, and there is really no difference between them. The 4 values in any proportion can be assembled in 12 different ways, and 8 of them will be correct. When students ask me what is the best way to assemble their proportion, I tell them to use the way they like best, but try to always use the same technique, since they will feel comfortable with it and be less likely to make a mistake.
I have the most confusing teacher in the world who just expects us to remember stuff we did last year (such as the sine law), and builds on to it without reviewing it.
You can make up random measures, but make them realistic. For example, if you make the longest side 12 and the shortest side 15, the formulas will still work, but the answers might look silly when you look at the triangle.
i just went to your web sight and honestly you are an amazing teacher im going back to college after ten years and theres trig in it and i didnt remember how to do it but after watching your vids on your web sight i understand it better then any teacher has ever tried to explain so i thank you very much your a great teacher keep up the good work
@dougsimmsonline this is the bit i always struggle with. Does this mean you do not have to re-arrange the formula for cosine rule a(sq) = b(sq) + c(sq) -2bcCosA as you can label any side a?? Thanks in advance.
truly sir i really need to applause this was such a great wideo it was slow enoguh for me to understand and get what to do ,even the calucuator showing was a genius idea hope other grade tens get this =)
this is really helpful. I can never understand my teacher and it is so hard to just read notes and figure out what they are saying. I spent one whole class in school learning this and left without a clue in the world, than I watched this video and I got it instantly.

@ 2:53 when you say 12 x sin 31, why do you change the answer from 6.18045 to 6.1805?

@muffdog1234 It doesn't matter, does it? Seeing as how you cross multiply two equations.

does it matter which side you call A or B
torau666 2 years ago
It does not matter, as long as you always put side a opposite from angle A and side b opposite from angle B.
