BUUULSSSHIT! Between 2000 and 2005 d'n'b used to abuse 8/8 and 8/4 heavily. Most of Tech Itch's tracks are in 8/8. After that 2/4, 6/8 & 3/4 were very popular in d'n'b. Fanu has used most of the possible odd time signatures AND metric modulations.
The Beatles have songs which modulate irregularly between 7/4 and 4/4, which is a messed up as time signatures come. Bulgarian folk music is almost entirely in odd time signatures. I can go on and on about these things you don't understand.

Example - 8/8 can be counted as "1-and-2-AND-A-3-AND-A" that's why it's a compound meter, you have one group of two notes and two groups of three. 4/4 is counted as "1-and-2-and-3-and-4-and" - four groups of two. Look it up.
