(1) JP must provide NM a reasonable follow-through and not prevent it.
(2) JP must make every effort to be clear of NM's follow-through.
NM's follow-through was not prevented but because of the low frame rate of the vid and the speed & position of the players it is difficult to tell exactly how close JP was to the end of NM's swing. Let on that basis only.
On to Rule 2. Instead of making every effort to be clear of NM's follow-through, JP moved into it.. Stroke for that.
The original instinct by the ref was correct. It's a stroke to Matthew. Jonathan steps into Nick's shot and is struck during a reasonable follow-through at which point the stroke is awarded and the play is dead. Nick does not need to ask for a let as the referee witnessed the contact. The ball is dead regardless of being playable. Jonathan's loose shot off the backwall into the middle and failure to stay cleared caused the stroke. Stroke Matthew. True story.
It's amazing, how someone with his skill is still just...a poor little baby.
Why did Matthew hit him? Because he was in the way. It's not dangerous play by Matthew - it's obstruction by Power. Not only did he impede Matthew (an automatic stroke) but he also stopped the rally. And he wants a let? What a joke. His ego is so huge - he proved this by screaming at the ref - that he is blind to reason. He thinks he can get things his way if he screams loud enough. Which is what happened here.
its not a stroke. let is the right call. matthew could have called before he played, then that would be a stroke. He hit power on after the ball, hence its a let. Besides, you can't award a stroke to matthew when he didn't ask. Either a let to power, or no let meaning matthew wins as power stopped.
Still, i know what you mean, talk about throwing your toys out the pram.
Let is the right call I think. Matthew didn't ask for a thing, so the stroke is pretty much out of the question, unless you don't believe Power when he claims being hit. Since Mathew didn't deny hitting Power, a let seems like the right call. That being said, Power is very theatrical and controlling, and I'm pretty sure most players would have sucked up a little accidental contact.
Yeah, I agree, very good rallies, but what's with all the lets in the end? I was concerned that when you make let twice in a row, you lose a point, or something like that.
@gurjot15 Lol please tell me that you are saying that to refer to something else because if you are saying that to refer to this video..i worry about you since this is squash and not racquetball...
Nice vid! Pity Power is such a pain in bum; (gets up on soap box)I mean asking for a let because he stood far too close to Matthews and got hit with the racket (even worse the ref let him have a let). Shame Matthews didn't him in the gob. It's this sort of stuff that can really hurt squash (gets off soap box).
some of these rallies are just sick..

1) Hold your breath.
2) Copy all of these steps.
3) Go to two other video.
4) Paste it in the comments.
If you can do all of this without breathing you're a good pot smoker
