The greatest barrier to success in tackling the social determinants of health are that the people who are aware of the problem do not have the tools to solve it, and the people who have the power have no perspective on the problem. Any lecture on this topic seems to describe a carpenter in one two with no hands and a carpenter in another town with no eyes trying to "work together" to make a chair.
