It may be hard to believe, but I promise you this is NOT an act that anyone considers "heroic". It was uncivilized and inhumane, something met by shock and disbelief among everyone I know. I am convinced that most Muslims are neither terrorist nor do they condone terrorism. Please believe me when I say most Christians do not condone this act of violence either.

I am a right-wing Christian and I have already denounced this attack. It is awful. When it comes down to these acts that have religion tied in, we must look at the text. There are no stories in the Bible that teach Christianity should be forced upon non-believers, but rather be preached to those willing to listen. Then we look in the Qur'an (and especially the authentic hadiths), and we see what Muhammad brings to the table.
