the live action dont serve much as a trailer, more like an aditional content that tell little stories or show the game world from an other perspective, so they arent supposed to show gameplay, and yeah, people who are not familiar with the story wount understand a thing. They arent very pormotional like the trailers

The Halo Reach one she was talking about was just a short advert one.The main Halo Reach live action is the "deliver hope" one which was definitly the best live action ive seen.It had action, story(as much story as a live action gets) and even tied in with the games story(the spartan who dies at the end was the spartan that Noble 6 replaces).Thoguh i found the metroid live action to be boring and cliche.Just like tha actual game when it came out.

that a good point about the trailers. Live action does pull those gamers who may not have been interested in the game to begin with. I personally would rather see gameplay. there are a lot of times where I see a trailer and there is no gameplay which doesn't really convince me to buy the game. I want to know what the game is like. And for me gameplay is what gets me excited for the game.

I for one think that live trailers are pretty good and entertaining, and not only that, but I think they are a great way to get people pumped for the game it's representing. It does for me at least. Oh, and a game that doesn't live up to it's trailer is Halo Reach, good game in certain areas but rubbish story. The "Deliver Hope" trailer ruined Reach.

you should count the actually trailers, 3 were made, you chose to pick the worst one to represent halo's live action trailer. I agree about the appeal of the Resistance trailer. I think live action game trailers/commercials are amazing. I think it gives a certain to respect and prestiege to bigger games. As far as the Halo trailer, I've never see THAT one, but the other REACH Live action stuff was awesome! I think there should be some gameplay, but for me, it's just great to see the games in movie form alittle. HOLLAaaa

The commercials that involve people resembling the characters in the game themselves can be rather interesting and enticing to buy the game, somewhat.

I still remember the Zelda Majora's Mask commercial that was made similarly years ago when that first came out.

I think the new live action for reach is like you said for halo players, but for the halo players it worked great. I am the kind of person who gets attached to characters so showing these people right before the destruction of reach was a great thing to show.
