Saw BBVD perform live in Stowe VT a few years back... WOW! And got to meet each on them after the show. Great guys. Superb musicians and showmen. They are one of those few bands that's actually better live! Worth seeing if you have the chance.

I couldn't really tell you the best place to get one, but you might try looking up "zoot" suits; I've seen plenty of tux rental places carry them.

We saw them last night at Epcot as well. I had never even heard of them, but a friend of ours told my husband and I that they were very good. He wasn't kidding-they are one of the best! You just don't see talent like this anymore. We're going to do some research on how they came up with the idea to start this band, because nobody thinks of doing swing music anymore.

Gee--sounds a LOT like the Flying Neutrinos' "Mr. Zoot Suit."

These guys traveled to NYC to warm up for the Neutrinos on a club gig (for free!), before they wrote "Pin Stripe," before they hit it big, and the Neutrinos played "Mr. Zoot Suit" that night. Coincidence? I think not.

They should share their royalties with Mark Cally, who wrote "Mr. Zoot Suit."

There are ways of referencing other songs and artists that shows you've studied the style, or are honoring your predecessors, and then there's ripping off someone else's song.

"Covering" (that word is not used in jazz, but this is definitely NOT jazz) Cab's music is cool by me, that falls under the honoring one's predecessors and showing your influences category.

This style is actually a newer style. It's not formal big band, like I think you're talking about. There's not as many band members and they've added electric guitars. This style has the instrumentation of 3rd wave ska, but the sound of big band. New-esque.
