A few years ago I thought 6-stringed basses were the shit. Then Victor taught me that you don't need any more than 4 strings to tear the air apart with your playing. Now he's taught me you (or HE at least) don't even need 4.

may i just say. i broke a string during my solo a while ago, and i milked for everything it was worth and thought i did pretty well. got home popped on youtube and this was a recomended video. checked it out and what more can i say.... trying to live up to the great Mr Wooten is just.... well..... impossible.... what else is there to say? one of the greatest greats, in anyones books.

@CounterA11ack Sometimes I find losing a string, whether I'm playing bass or guitar , the fretboard sort of leaps at me and suggests wierd things I hadn't thought of before. My old bass teacher used to recomend when I lose a string to not replace it for a week or two as a way of learning OTHER strings. Its an interesting exercise.

I asked Victor about this video last week. He said he has never seen it, but would like to check it out. I asked him what went through his mind when that string broke broke. (I would be thinking I was screwed), but he said, nothing really, it happens ALL the time, and I don't even remember the string breaking. It didn't have any effect. I've met Vic couple of times now and find him to be such a wonderful gentleman, He is such a nice friendly guy and a pleasure to speak with, as are they all.
