RENEGADE - ZX Spectrum Game Review

When I was a kid this was the best fighting game I had seen on the spectrum. I played this around a friends house on his spectrum and got the game on my C64 for my birthday. I didnt like the C64 version as much as this one though.

@Carbon657 I think when it comes to C64 ansd Speccy, I do think the Speccy does have the better graphics on a lot of games, however, the colours on the C64 are far better in most cases? It was a great game though for sure ;o)

Thanks a lot, it was unplayable on C64 and I always wanted to see how it looked on specy :) Review in one Croatian magazine was so legendary that I was dying to play this on zx, so it became like a legend or cult game to me. Once again, thanks :)

You know i''ve been trying to compleate this about twenty years on from when I first played it i've got to the point where I can reach the last level with relative ease whert gets frustratinly hard i've been trying to avoid the boss but after watching this i'm thinkig maybe I sohuld target him a little in order to get me some time and sme respite from geting shot at.

@greenelf12 Yeah it does step up at the last level... the best thing to do is dont let them get behind you and use the jump kick as much as possible. The back kick is a good one too if you do get surounded! Cheers for watching ;o)

I have been triumphant now any way even manageged it 3 or 4 times in a row :O) I felt vindicated, Also if you go to the bottom left of the screen and fall backwards you can fall through the wall and appea on the other side which isn't actually that usfall but is curious al lthe same.

Ahhh... the BOSS !

I remember hating him, cause I could not beat him... heh. This is one of the first games I ever played, I tried it in around 1990, that was cool.

Seriously. Loved this game. Was playing on a green-screen Amstrad 6128 but who cares? The game rocks! I need to find me a PC port version. LMAO! (hey I'm still playing Barbarian 1 ported to the PCs from time to time... why not???? )

It was the bbfc that changed teenage mutant ninja turtles, go teenage mutant hero turtles, in the uk, this was till James Ferman the head of the bbfc left, in i think the late 90,s, since then cencorship has relaxed , and the turtles are ninja turtles in the uk.

I just picked up Renegade for the NES and man its pretty good but its hard if you ask me! I like the way the guy always faces the bad guys and runs backwards.

And yes it is a hard game but I played it recently and got to the top and escaped! (Beware - There is no great ending to the game, but thats Speccy games for ya!) OMG!!! This was my all time favorite ZX game. I played this for hours upon hours. Wow... this is where it all began for me. Havent looked back since. Gotta say, Fallout 3 is slightly better : ) Thanks for posting dude, 5*.

Robocop would be a good one mate,Footballer of the year 2 was another I played alot,very quirky game that was! Ant Attack,Stunt Car racer,Suzuki TT racer,Bobsleigh,Operation Wolf ,R Type, Any of them ! I could go on and on...

I got my emulator from GAME years ago in about 1998.. ha ha. It came with nearly every game you can think of! £9.99 bargin! Ive looked into Skool Daze already, so yeah its on the list too ;o)

I downloaded the snes emulator from limewire but snes games are virtually impossible to play on a keyboard! I think i may get the speccy emulator it has 6000 games on it!

another quality review, shown it to some work colleagues, they were coming up with loads of suggestions old games for you to review... personally i would like to see the gauntlet series and the daley thompson sports games next.

What a good idea, I'd forgotten about Gauntlet.. what a classic game! Will probs have to do that one next?
