The design is most 70´s and early 80´s. Old stuff like songs of Michael Jackson. Good, but old. Better develope some new coneptions and give a shit of perry Rhodan and Isaak Asimov.
@spaceman1958 The Venus Project hopes to create a diverse, efficient, and advanced society to lift all people up to their highest potential, unlike the Village Project which seems to just want closed off communities of farmers. I see the resource-based economy as far more desirable than the traditional-esque economy of the Village Project, although I would love to hear your arguments for Piscataquis. I love debates.
Lots of good ideas but the result appears do be a really boring place to live. The problem with these visionary schemes, going back to Le Corbusier and Ebenezer Howard, is that the designers don't seem to understand how cities really work. People should read Jane Jacob's "The Death and Life of Great American Cities" before they attempt any futuristic city planning.
how would a caveman react if somebody would tell that one day he will live in a house where water would run from taps, where he could have light by touching a button and where he could store food for days and cook it whenever he wants? UTOPIA MAAAAAN
This plan is a classic monofunctional plan proposed by le Corbusier and the Athens Charter the problems are too numerous to mention but any student of arch or UP knows them. The idea that wind energy or agriculture should be arranged by geometric forms is absurd. Not all areas are located in high wind areas necessary for the efficient production of wind energy. There is nothing sustainable about abandoning an historical city.
a great idea (plan, dream, etc. what do you prefer). well it's seem to be easy to live in one of those, but are the rich people in this world will to use their money for this? if so means business, right? are you gonna waste your money for the sake of the humanity? as bad as i know no good Samaritan will give up his or her riches for free...
1) try and tow all that stuff to shore and mount it just once! Then put it all back out to sea and tell me how convenient it is and cheap!
2) fish farms... oooh is that the future or the past? we have fish farms fool and they cost a lot to run idiot!
3) 2 more impossible to build too heavy buildings and a dumb car to prove not one thing other than the fish farm is viable here, it is all junk with no brains behind any models made for they are insultingly full of major flaws. Scam exposed
1) brain of the city has to be in middle of the city but not in each buildings where it works? how do you know buildings away what is going on in the building you did not bother to have computers or people working it in? and all it does is the news in 3d eh! Oh and it runs the planet too via sensors?
Anyone else know it is really dumb to run a whole city from one place because if it is harmed the whole city is harmed seriously unlike systems in each needed location that are immune to this junk
1) so artist can't have a city of their own eh! nor musicians or religions or any kind of group that wants to live together as peers eh! forced to live in domes like slaves in a box eh.
2) the core is an insane monster of all things mixed together with kids and health care as wrong as possible in building that can't stand by how they are made.
Insane 300 trillion train services to replace normal at 100 times the cost!
3) Best underground services?BUT HOW? No water means by swamp mote?
6) unique landscaping makes rich and poor homes WHY?
7) more IMPOSSIBLE to build structures that by size would brake by the weight of themselves and sink all lop side and fall...terrible work! look what took place in Montreal stadium with 10th the size.. it broke and sunk costing millions more to repair.
8) Giant impossible too heavy robots to build them too! Then what? they poof fly to other location or are wasted to build as they can't be moved?
1) cities that big will brake and sink into the ground un even and so are never built.
2) yes we all know round cities are better IFplaned right and copied only.
3) motes (swamp) does no flow, and lands are not flat, and why force concentration extreme on people, and land so far from them to go just to walk in? crime zone extreme for rape and abuse just like central park NY for example. no police eh!
5) why are all the passive devices wasting land apart of the structures? JUNK!
The whole idea is that nobody is telling you wher eyou have to live, all the living accomodations (housing etc) is available without need for "courtesy" to banks/credit unions or funds, if you don't want to live there, then move somewhere else--these are conceptual ideas that, if accepted, the vision/design of thse buildings will change, however the sole idea of utilizing the earth's resources carefully and available to all is not a prison
Is that the sardine apartments or the luxury millionaire ones as he sure makes the world to be low in population with how many in that giant city 5000 people max? where do you put the other 6 billion humans he did not count in his plans for just 1 billion?
And what will we do with all of those rebellious people who don't want to live in these 'central planned' cities? I'd rather live in a shack in the woods than be cooped up in one of these prisons.
I would suggest trying to keep an open mind, these are only ideas, no one is forced to do anything they don't want to... it's about creating a free society, that's if society decides to do it.
@pheistychick Personnally, if I wouldn't have to work for a living and would live in a much more peaceful earth tuned-in with ecology and our well-being, I think that I wouldn't mind living almost anywhere andI would forget about my little precious ego needs.
@pheistychick You are already in prison my friend. Your thoughts tell us that. Like liuv83 says..open your mind to the possibilities. This won't happen in our lifetime, barring a breakdown of the social structures..which could indeed happen.

Full of interesting ideas, but not exactly a bottom up, organic, incremental approach like the Piscataquis Village Project.
