IF you want to come join me for a day, I live in the Farmington, NM area. Looking for guys who want to come train to be AF PJs, drop me a line trcktrvz@aol.com. Swim, ruc, run, climb, water con, underwater knot tying, rope rescue, preparation is Key!!
This is a great video for those of us preparing ourselves to enter the pararescue career field, put the miles in, swim the meters, build your water con, hit the books, this video helps to understand what the minimum performance requirements necessary, are. Remember train and prepare if you want to succeed!! The only easy day was yesterday, mentality.
I have met the men who run Rescue Athlete and believe me when i say, they know their stuff and can back up all the work outs they do. Check out the web site to get some awesome shirts. I was lucky enough to get a free one while working an event where i met the guys!!!!! Thanks Rescue Athlete
I'm sure they are finning and using side stroke, at least that's what I've read so far, don't quote me, although I can't wait to do it myself this year.
@treyanator09 Good luck! I went to PJOC in 2008. Roughest week you'll have in your life... unless you go to INDOC. I'm hoping to be a PJ too so good luck.
@treyanator09 Stick with it dude. When you get old enough go to all of the GSAR training you can get. Join a local fire department and try your hand at getting your EMT and maybe some technical rescue certs and find out how you like the work. It's addicting... you've been warned.
@treyanator09 I'm in the Civil Air Patrol too, Tucson Composite Squadron 105. I'm almost eighteen and I am looking forward to the PJOC as well, best of look to you my friend. :)
@treyanator09 go for it, im going to PJOC this year and im 15, ive worked too so many acomplishments in CAP and outside of CAP, do tons of activites, do cross country, workout alot, do everything!
I am so ready mentally for this!! Since I was a sophomore!

Do CRO and PJ train side by side like the SEALs officers and enlisted?
Mantisisland 11 months ago
@Mantisisland Yes but the officers are supposed to lead the enlisted. The CROs still must listen to the trainers
treyanator09 10 months ago
I'm hopefully going to be there soon.

What stroke do they use for those open water swims? combat side stroke? or are they finning?

@ahyoung2020 theres rarely combat side stroke without fins. for openwater its sidestroke with no arms and fins. "leading arm trailing arm"
