Hey andStack why John Nash sais that the game is imperfect? Also he implais that because hed started he should won, but why? as fas as i know this game about planation and strategy and not about whos playing first. Today is the first day that i played Go and i remeber this scene and looked for it here. Thankgoodnes that you uploaded it and maybe thats why you know the answers to my questions.
There is a great deal of mathematical interest in the game of Go and it actually is not too well understood. For instance, computer programs can only reach the level of amature players. Whether or not the game is actually flawed is not too well known, but in this movie Nash speculates that it is. There was a deleted scene that explained the situation a bit more. Maybe I'll upload it for you. Thanks for watching.
@Otrebor2099 Hey, I hope you didn't think I forgot about you! I went and checked out the DVD again and uploaded two deleted scenes where John Nash makes a new mathematically perfect game of Go. Hope you enjoy!
@Otrebor2099 I recommend you try the book Mathematical Go by Berlekamp and Wolfe. I myself do research into these games, and Go is by far one of the hardest games to analyse. Nash simply conjectured that by moving first he should automatically win, and that his play was "perfect.
Of course we don't know what "perfect play" actually is for Go, if we did then nobody would play it anymore.
He said the game is flawed because he is a damn bad loser. His game was horrible, his formation was heavy. The lost was inevitable.
