The generic responses seem like a staff member only read my letter far enough to find a topic that they had a prepared generic response and just went with that and did not bother with the rest of the letter.At my House Rep. actually came across like someone read my entire letter and copied and pasted responses to each topic. That was an inspiring speech. It brought up a very good point. Too bad no one will listen in the Congress and we'll have the Patriot Act rammed down our throats for another couple years. Maybe next time they'll just make the thing permanent. Then they'll come out with another piece of legislation taking away even more rights, and another, and another. For whatever reason a good majority will always renew the Patriot Act. It's the foundation for the American police state and it's beyond unconstitutional. Even if it wasn't renewed the executive bureaucracy will just go ahead and continue to act as if it exists.

I did write my Senators. The generic responses seem like a staff member only read my letter far enough to find a topic that they had a prepared generic response and just went with that and did not bother with the rest of the letter.At my House Rep. actually came across like someone read my entire letter and copied and pasted responses to each topic. Not great, but each issue was acknowledged in the response. But we shouldn't quit, call/email/mail monthly, or even weekly!
