  • Where did you get those soil moist crystals

  • @petsnakes1 you can just add more crystals if it get too watery...

  • we're can I buy the white pellet thing from..

  • calcium, when digested by feeders will almost instantly leave the feeders.. it's pretty useless to do this. correct me if im wrong

  • what is th nutrients for the crickets u should put some sort of nutrients in it

  • and the calci problem is that the calcium concentrate breaks down the granuals back to their original state

  • wow thats great man great videos

  • em why not put the dye in the water first

  • all i use is a wet tissue

  • why wouldnt you add the food colouring with the liquid calcium and then add the granuals?

  • @czarandmaeve - I stopped using the liquid calcium because it caused it to turn to mush instead of the cubes.

  • He sounds like the guy off of King of the Hill

  • @leosarebeast - Think I can file a claim for them impersonating my voice?

  • @leosarebeast lol exactly what i was thinking

  • Can I turn my calcium powder into calcium liquid and substitute it with the liquid you used?

  • @hypnotic26 - Not sure about that, but I stopped using the liquid calcium due to it turning everything to mush.

  • do u have to use the liquid jurassacal if not could u use simple calcium powder

  • @reptilekid1045 - Yes you can. That's what I ended up doing in the end.

  • is there any substitutes for the soil moist?

  • @chrisrock127 - Don't know the answer to that, sorry. I'm sure there are other brands out there...

  • @petsnakes1 Home Depot carries an alternative. Store SKU # 694810.

  • @chrisrock127 You can go to a craft store like Micheals, and just buy "non toxic hydro crystals" same thing. :)

  • where did you get your soil moist? I see you paid 6.99 I paid 9.99 for mine so I was wondering where you got yours from for that price

  • @hbuglilly Just a local gardening shop. I called around a few places and they ranged in prices from 5.99 to 11.99 for the same size depending where you went. I just took the most convenient one.

  • I wouldn't call it gutload, as it's just a moisture thing. The gutload would actually give the crickets nutrients, not just moisture. A gutload should always be provided with water crystals, not just water crystals alone. Also, the crystals should generally be a lot larger than what was shown in the video. They were still teeny tiny. Mold isn't caused by mixing different water crystals, but by trapping moisture in a container and not letting it breath.

  • @wl05 The calcium added gives them nutrients beyond plain water. The crystals did get much larger. Actually ended up with 2.5 containers full just didn't spend time filming it.

Finally I wasn't saying the crystals would mold. I meant that any left over food in the containers would mold. I had used them as real gut load for my roaches. Dog food, and fish flakes ground up together.

  • I think the salts in the liquid calcium is acting like rock salt does on snow causing the water crystals to turn to mush.

  • @sd906238 Oh, good call. Didn't even think about that. When I have a chance I'll have to look into the ingredients and see if salt is in there.
