  • CAN HE REALLY FIGHT? AGAINST A SPARTAN?

  • We are from the same lineage. Ying Jin Pai Association Sifu Walth has been my instructor. Your Round Form is nearly flawless. Loved your Kicking technique and transition. Loved your insideout foot movement emphasis. Your sword form must be awesome.

  • I really enjoy your form. Do you teach?

  • @kirshenbaum yes, check out yingjowpai(dot)com

  • This form is also full of applications...approximately 7 applications per named movement of 108.

  • Nice job....wish my round form were that smooth.

  • Wow, this guy moves really smooth, totally cool interpretation of the Wu style.

  • Wow, this guy moves really smooth, totally cool interpretation of the Wu style.

  • is there a way that i can learn tai chi by videos itself as there are no teachers in my area.

  • @adasdful In my opinion, without a good foundation and understanding of Tai Chi principles, I don't believe you could learn it by yourself. I believe it is too difficult to pick up the details from a video and a lot of Tai Chi is in the details. I'd be afraid you would pick up too many bad habits which are hard to lose later. Sorry, it's just my opinion.

  • very good

  • Все красиво, но не доделано. Где приложение усилий?

  • this is a very realistic, efficient and most of all an original style which can really help someone at all aspects of his life(health and fight). so if you have the chance, learn and practice it with patience before you say any thing for it

  • Obviously there are many different stylesof tai chi which have been differed from master to master and created their branches throught the ages. they obviously have differences on aplications, movements, probably efficiency and of course different levels of personal benefit. someone shouldnt judge this or any other style at least before being taught of it by a real teacher of the style.

  • The wu form I have been taught is similar to this, but a little more compact, less rounded and (I think) more directly appliable.

Our lineage comes via Cheng Wing Kwong, and is focussed on taichi as a martial art.

  • would love to see it. Do you have any posts?

  • looks good

  • it's a pleasure watching and having learned from you and everyone at Ying Jow Pai. Congratulations on being "master". it's well deserved

  • thats totally different...

  • the tachi of Shum Leung comes from his teacher Ngwainung who had 3 major instructors

Chui Sau Chun, Lau Bin Hun & Ngau Yun Ho Man. His classmate under Chui Sau Chun was Cheng Wing Kwong who furthered his training under the founder and shared these insights with him.

What we call the Slow Form is known in HK Wu Family as the "Square/Box Routine". It is said that this was formulated for teaching beginners.

Delphi1: Hand't heard of the Wang Mao Zhai connection. What's your source for this?

  • totally cool...

  • it almost seems to me like this is wu style in some way "yangified", in that the wu style i practise is similar in general sequence but much tighter, smaller circles than seen in this clip

  • Totally jamming. almost as cool as the competition form.

  • i agree with xpl309!!!

  • Very skillful and convincing. Many years of hard practice. Good internal control and exposure of spirit, qi, and state of mind. Much better than those on the youtube calling themselves masters. Keep up.

  • so different...

  • nice movement!congratulation!!!

  • You look awesome. Very soft.3:47 you come down a little off balance (you probably know) but this is not the wu style fast form i am accustomed to. Which wu style because there are two referred to as wu.

  • thank you for your comment. Of course when the camera is on ur never at ur best. This was shot almost 10 years ago. I hope I have improved. :-)

  • It is truly a pleasure to see this form. Nice job BeeLikeWater.

  • This fast form is totally different from the fast form taught by grand master Ma Yueh Liang. His form has "Fa Jing" and high kicking and fast punches.

  • Sifu has said that the Wu form should always be smooth with no overt display of power. If you want to discover power there are special exercises to develop that but it does not belong in the form when you practice the form.

Part of our practice includes 'shaky power' drills where we practice techniques from the form with intent.

  • I think tai chi isn't meant for the high kicking and fast punching. When you do pushing hands is when that should come into play. But if tai chi were to speed up, i think it takes away from the relaxing and breathing and concentrating exercises born from it.

  • Thank you for the clearification. when I did see fast form my mind though Fast set which was wujian quans fast set does not look like this form. the title should say linking not fast though because of this I was confused. I think my sifu called this form the short simplified which can be called short fast set in other places I'm not saying that your wrong its just I needed clearification. Peace.

  • As others have said sifu refers to this as the fast form and so the poster as a student uses the language his sifu always refers to it as.

As for short this is a 108 movement form and in no way is short.

  • Sifu always referred to this as the "Fast Form," although the Chinese characters mean "connected or linking form."It is not a simplified form, but consists of 108 techniques performed in a continuous manner, as opposed to the Slow Form or " frame" (jia zi) where the techniques are broken down into very precise movements.

  • Sifu's form was taught to him by his godfather and is a combination of the northern Wu style of Wang Mao Zhai and the Shanghai style of Wu Jianquan with some modifications. The performance above is a beautiful rendition.

  • Sifu always referred to this as the "fast form,"but the Chinese characters literally mean linking or connected fist. This is in contrast to the " slow" form or "frame" in which the postures are performed in a non-connected manner. It is in no way a simplified form, but contains 108 postures performed in a non-stop manner.

  • Grandmaster Leung Shum is world renowned and this is his student. And I must say, it's very beautiful.

  • Open your mind man. Your Wu isn't the only Wu. Just like there are so many Yang styles too.

  • Nowhere was it stated or implied that this was the only Wu style. The statement just briefly describes it being under the Leung Shum heritage.

  • This is the fast form ? this is more like the simplified for... I should post some of geralds clips for posterity sake this is not the fast form but a rendition if the simplified 24 in fast pace. the fast form is much faster and has a small jump in the first 1/4 of the form. but thanks for showing the 24 though lol

  • Am I dreaming or awake?

    This video is wonderful!

The form is excellent, It is really water in movement, whole body is involved at every moment....

And the music!!!! Has it been composed specially for that form and that guy? It is incredible!

    Thank you "BeeLikeWater"!

  • good
