I'm a Marine infantryman and I hate how soft the Army was in Iraq. But I do have a lot fo respect for the Army grunts out east in the stan.

Just because they were there doesn't make them hard. I worked extensively with the Army in Ramadi and the Diyala province. Not impressed at all.

@kavika0311i was in tal afar iraq and it was the most boring part of my life the year after i was in pech valley that shit was hell on crack!I respect marines for watching our backs!we would shoot at a building and wait for an airstrike and they would simply raid the building at close quarters combat.

definately one of the worst places in Afghanistan, if not the worst. Helmand province areas in southern Afghanistan get alot of the attention but Kunar/Nuristan provinces are both really dangerous places themselves. The other valleys in the area are bad also, like the waygul. Back when the 173rd airborne was in that AO, one of their company's, Chosen lost 15 men in the waygul. 5 Soldiers and a Marine in one ambush, 1 killed by a traiterous afghan guard, and 9 killed during the battle of Wanat.
