I have my mangroves in a goldfish tank. I used a tall straight crystal vase 1/4" thick so that I can turn it to keep growth of mangrove straight . The vase stands 1/3 out of the top of the water and water from the pump in the tank goes via a hose to the bottom of the vase. The vase is full of hydroponic clay balls which are a great filter and excellent for nitrate fixing bacteria to grow on. The water overflows down the side of the vase increasing surface area oxygenation for the fish.
i just bought to archer fish they are 2 days old and only one of them is eating and the other one is, i also hav a arowana but he doesnt even bother them help.
i have 2 in a tropical tank.they don't seem to grow so well as the ones in the brackish tank. same temp and same amount of light. have a go see what happens.
Mangroves are awesome. I like your tank, but aren't you afraid that the trees will get too big for it? I've heard of mangroves breaking aquariums once they become large.
