I first surfed in Santa Barbara, I will never forget it- there were dolphins right beside us. I live in SF and it's too damn cold here, but I'm gonna start going up to Stinson Beach or Pacifica which have good beginner waves. Hopefully I can make it down to SB again soon, love the water there!

surf looks nice in cali, ive only surfed in costa rica which out of resaerch is my favorite place cause water is warm and no sharks ever come out, unless u go out really far. But the only shark attack ive heard of and this guy went 2 my school, was when his foot was in a school of fish and shark bit hisleg by accident and let go right away, only thing tht could stop u from surfing here is crocs and they only appear by the estuaries, us locals surf wit em and they dont do anything anyways

@Jobarules62NYY let me apologize ahead of time for bashing your spot. that said, the OBX may get heavy, mutant barrels from time to time but they can't compare to the history, culture, and of course, the 500yrd peeling right freight train waves of the "Queen of the Coast." Additionally, Im only 20 and my visual experiences are surely limited but still, I cant imagine a more beautiful sight than sunset at Rincon with the sky all aflame and the purple channel islands poking through the haze.

hey!! where you from? ya go with the 4\3 for sure!! cause it gets in the mid 50's here in santa barbra ( water temp)!! but it is el niono so it might be a little wamer... but ya bring both!! but you will proubly be using a 4\3 and 4\3 is on the safe side just incase it is cold :)
