I proved that 360>ps3... My xbox had a rrod, i just kicked it (it was standing vertical) to a horisontal position, next day i saw my little brother playing red dead redemption on it, i was like WTF... It's either the kick or..... magic *snort* *snort*. Anyway this is a true story, because i had 2 RROD's in my life, i fixed one with applying some paste, and the other got fixed by a kick. Next on, my ps3...It had a yellow light, so i punched it and a part flew out, had to pay to fix it. sucked >:[

1 red light: Something inside the Xbox has failed. An error screen will show up on the TV.

2 red lights: The Xbox is overheating. The fans will run really fast.

3 red lights: Like the 1 red light except with no error screen. Can also mean the Xbox having trouble with its power.

4 red lights: No AV cable.

I got the RROD once, I didn't say anything, just plugged out the xbox, and plugged it in again. I just made sure that everything was correctly plugged in. Easy :P

The Slim instead gets the RDOD (red dot of death). It never actually happens unless you do something stupid like putting a bad harddrive into it or removing a component. I've had my slim for almost a year now, and I've never gotten the RDOD.

Dude,first of all you need to get that big hunk of crap off the top of your xbox. You must be begging for rrod with that crap on it. Then unplug everything from from the xbox and fan it for 25 minutes. after the 25 mins,keep the fan fanning it while you tap the xbox a good few times while you are blowing in the holes in the back. After this let it fan for five more minutes and plug it in and it will work. I did it to fix my xbox today and it worked,good luck!

I've had my Xbox since 2009 and it still hasn't received the RROD yet... But really, I don't care because I barely play it anymore because of it's lack of exclusives. I play on my PS3 much more it has much better exclusives like - Infamous 2, Uncharted 3, God of War. I'm not saying that the PS3 is better, it just has much better exclusives. Infamous 2 and Arkham City are the best games of 2011!

This is GPU problem. The BGA soldering that attaches the GPU to the main (system) board became broken. This can be fixed by doing "reball" at service centre. There is also some DIY methods like heating the GPU with a heatgun, towel trick (or similar toothpick trick) or X-Clamp. Most of them can fix your Xbox 360 but the effect will be temporary (from several days to 6 months) in most cases.

You can usually fix your ps3's ylod by entering the the hidden OS menue and rebooting the system. All of your saved games and memory will still be there and you don't have to send in your system and loose alot of game time. All in all it only takes about 5 minutes or so.
