I know one oft the guys who is in the current cast of blast that plays snare in the part where they are blind-folded. He plays brass in everything else. In fact he plays the solo in bolero.
I saw them live and they played this and instead of just putting on his teeth and doing that like this guys does in this one... the guy I saw put it on the back of his hand, his elbow, his ear, all over the place. They are soooo amazing live... it's rediculous.
Blast! was originally formed from a DCI champion drum and bugle corps called the Star of Indiana. Originally it was almost entirely drum corps kids who made the big hit in London before they went to Broadway. Their website used to list each member and what corps they were from. It is a logical tie in to DCI and many instructors came from DCI's ranks.
I'm having a hard time figuring out what they're playing at 4:02. Is it paradiddles, paradiddle diddles, or are they in triplets?

they need to do more with bases and tennors.. there is a lot of snare but bases can do some pretty sweet stuff too!!

My Dad owns the Sacramento Mandarins and he knows most of the instructors and players there.
