  • He moves his head and body too much when he talks, almost makes not want to watch these reviews any more.

  • it needs a tighter low end.. and then it'll sound great..

  • the prs 30 is perfect my master have one and sounds grat

  • All you 7 "Dislikes", what is there to dislike about this? It's a guy demonstrating some PRS amps, what were you expecting to happen? Do people dislike clips like this because they will never afford the guitar, let alone the amp, as long as their ass points downwards???

  • @prsaxeman They probably didn't like the sound. Honestly it doesn't sound good here but maybe it is the youtube compression.

  • These amps sound amazing in person but this guy makes them sound like a horses ass.

  • Hand-wired USA built amps are worth paying more for. If you're a hobbyist dicking around in your mom's basement, you wouldn't understand. If you're a touring musician and you need great tone AND road-worthiness, hand-wired amps are the way to go.

  • @midnightfluff Agreed 110%.

  • @RicardoDiazHimself: Don't know about the a-hole part, but PRS stuff is DEFINITELY overpriced. Excellent quality, no doubt, but too waaaaaaay too expensive, IMHO.

  • Nice sounding amp, would i pay 2k for one..hell No. Thank you PRS for alienating the average musician.

  • Paul Reed Smith is the most asshole person when it comes to pricing his products...there are a lot of amps...AWSOME amps, that have this sound also but arent as expensive as $2000 like these.

In a Blind A/B test if i dont tell you that this amp is $2000 you wouldnt like it over a fender of the same type...PRICE Tag affects The perception of sound aparently...

  • @RicardoDiazHimself while I agree these amps are overpriced I disagree that they sound like fenders. no knock on fender amps but none of them dirty up like this, 6L6 cannot duplicate EL84 sounds. I like fender amps for clean stuff since theyre amazingly clear and bright but this type of amp is what I want if I were going for a big lead tone like something santana influenced.

  • @AlexanderBlueAvenue

The Santana I first saw in concert 40 years ago used a Fender Super reverb 4x10 on stage... he defined his sound on stage and in the studio with the Gibson SG, es335, and Fender amps exclusively...!!!!

  • @jlarami PRS didnt exist 40 years ago...

  • these amps are fucking amazing and this vid makes them sound awful.

  • tipical for PRS - not everything that comes from the factory has to have abnormal price!

    sounds average to me

  • I didnt know muddy is organic...... until yesterday, it was just plain muddy.

  • i would never pay $2000 for this thing.

  • sounds very chunky, and that was with the bridge pickup....not sure if i can handle that much chunk

  • is it a full tube amps ? , what are the pre amp tubes , and is it a spring reverb ?

  • sounds to old for my taste

  • i wanna buy a good amp, but i dont know if i should buy a head and cabinet or a combo. whats better for gigs?

  • @saicam910 depends on size of a gig

  • @saicam910 Head and cabinet anytime mate.. :-) go for any tube amp which is suitable for your taste of music

  • @saicam910 the head would be more versatile as you could buy any cab you want to go with it. Im sure a 4x12 with that head would be more than enough

  • I'll go for the Peavey Windsor Studio Combo 20 watt Clas A.............. $499.. hello!!!

  • that sweet 16 is it for me

  • I don't know what it is about this guy and their recording that every demo on this channel just sounds absolutely terrible.

  • nice amp but, not digging the "boutique" look. the white "face plate" is out of place. the head should have been as wide as the cab.

  • the sweet 16 sounds great, but both of them sound like shit when you through them in overdrive... maybe better in real life

  • People who say these are bad and go back to playing their fenders, voxes, or marshalls are completely biased and jealous, because these amps can do anything those three manufactures can do and better in some cases

  • @dylansmale You can get any amp to sound like any amp ever made, as long as your effects budget is large, but they'll never sound as good as the original!

These amps sound no better then a comparable Marshall, Fender, Vox, Peavey,Orange, Engl or Mesa - yet, with the exception of the Mesa's, they have higher MSRP then the others... On top of that they look like a Peavey Windsor, which sound pretty damed good and a fraction of the cost of one of these PRS's!!!

  • these amps have more mojo and tone than any fender, marshall, vox, orange, boogie I've ever heard. Of course their higher end amps have a lot of the same boutique parts as the vintage amps... (not the new vox, or fenders)

  • Comment removed

  • not diggin' em' for some reason ...

  • sounds muddy...

  • I really like that tone, not for metal though.

  • then use a pedal...i havent heard any amp that straight out of the box has a metal sound with out the help of some sort of effect.

  • To you guys who think this amp sounds bad, TYR IT IN REAL LIFE. You will be blown away. This guy always makes amps sound like shit.

Just play them for real and don't say they suck until you've played them.

  • is it just me or do these sound like hell?

  • SHIT!

  • I don't see how "hand wired" is a big deal. These amps don't sound very good to me.

  • I guess everyone is doing a modelling series but it depends which company's line you prefer I made the mistake of buy peavey's sucky ass modelling amp

  • Overpriced & Underperforming.

  • far from it

  • the 30 sounds really nice

  • Not worth the money; I play metal so obviously i wouldn't like it, but it doesnt sound overall good to me either way. Just buy a marshall or something

  • @Daemonfury1 You're crazy Ive played these amps in front of me. They blow anything I've ever played before. Dont judge these amps on this video, try themself man. you wont regret it.

  • its usually only on amp demos that paul gets a good guitar sound

  • No gain, no game

  • @senSedative112 These are single channel amps so you need to crank them to get a good tube overdrive. Which is really what you should do with any tube amp.

  • @senSedative112 I

t does have gain, that's why you have 2 volumes. It's set up like the old JCM800's. You crank the volume knob and leave the master low.....thats how you get gain

  • @lespaulman1 Yeah but that still just sounds like pure overdrive.. I personally prefer an individualized gain knob to allow more versatility in finding my tone. It also just makes things easier. The rest of the amp sounds dirty.. if it had specified gain, I'd be in love.

  • @senSedative112 Actually, the volume acts as a gain. Kinda like a Plexi style amp where the more you crank it, the more tube distortion you get. Same thing here. Because it's a single channel amp, there's a Preamp Volume and a master volume. So crank the Volume and dial the Master in how ever loud you want and rock. Or set it as a semi-gritty tone and run a Tube Screamer or some sort of OD/Dist pedal infront for more gain.

  • @senSedative112 you don't know anything about tone. go back to the line6 videos

  • @AlexanderBlueAvenue Since I am a straight man I normally don't say this, but hop off of my dick.. pussy.

  • @senSedative112 when insulting someone it usually helps to excercise a bit of class to avoid making yourself look like the ignorant one. if you really have nothing better to say than "hop off my dick" try reading a book for some inspiration.

  • There is also the Paul Reed Smith 30. A 30Watt Tube Guitar Amp Head

  • How much are we talking for the combo amp??

  • PRS 30 Guitar Combo Amp - $2,079.00

PRS Sweet 16 Series Head and 112 Tuxedo 1x12 Half Stack - 2,158.00

  • i can't afford this stuff, so i'll stick with my crappy 30$ amp.

    :)

  • I,ll take a Marshall any day over these amps. The PRS guitars are really amazing quality though.

  • Hi Paul from Guitar World.

  • it sounds good cuz paul knows what the fuck he's playing

  • Wow not too shaby. So, are the amps designed for PRS guitars or can other guitars sound just as good through them?

  • Any guitars work through it.

  • derek trucks uses a PRS amp now with a gibson SG and sounds amazing.

  • Cool, I might have to look into those.

  • fuck that sounds nice

  • I'm not sold on these PRS amps.. I like the other PRS amps... Paul is a great

  • Somebody's tuner sucks but nice sweet amp and guitar anyway!

  • awesome amps!

  • sound fucking sik

  • the sweet 16 sounds way better

  • ...nope, don´t like it, believe it or not, I prefer roller.

  • nice shirt

  • paul is a legend

  • guitar sounds great, but PRS is just tea bagging people with this amp.

  • the sweet sixteen is WAY to muddy for my taste

  • prs should really stick to guitars, it's what they're good at, these amps are just crappy, they don't sound good at all except for the clean and no one is going to buy an amp so expensive as this one probably is just for the clean tone

  • yea agreed in the end though the biggest slap in the face is how expensive this shit is

  • @Dreamscapevirus definitely, i don't want to pay an arm and a leg so i can have a shitty amp but show off the brand name, that's what marshalls are for, haha

  • yea and marshall is really pulling a fast one ! watch out Line 6 youve gotta compete with marshalls shitty digital modelling technology...if marshall was smart they would have just stuck with the big four! 50 watt plexi, 100 watt plexi, jcm 800 and the JTM 45 all this other stuff they try an jam down everyones mouths have just been pretty embarassing lately Jim Marshall is really showing how senile you can get with age

  • clean tones are good overdrive sounds like a fart.

  • sounds like dookie stinks. not good

  • Those 6V6's do clean tones REALLY well...

  • they both sound like shit =\ my ears.... they probably cost more than there worth....

  • is it just me... or does that amp look like a tuxedo? sounds smooth like james bond lol

  • @dobby240 that's why it's called the Tuxedo series.

  • @9reasy5am Ah i did not know that :p

    Penguin suit series lol

  • we got pre aged guitars like the fender custom shop and road worn series, when they going to do an aged amp?? my mates got an old fender deluxe and its all beat up. looks and sounds amazing

  • @strabbs1 Fender already does.

  • What the hell is the purpose of getting a faux 'worn' series guitar anyway...just find a beat up old school fender, there's a REAL 'worn series' guitar.

  • different strokes.

  • ...I'm sorry?

  • The 16 sounds kinda muddy but the 30 sounds great.

  • @xdivinebladex Probably miced very bad like guitarworld dose a lot ... Some months ago all revieuws they did in like a month soundet muddy becouse of bad micing.

  • Look at the mic, its right up to the cone, which will give a little bit brighter a tone, however some people prefer it. Its not bad micing, some times the amp just is not good.

  • @ruffles272 Thats the 30 combo the othere amp is the one that gives the mudy sound. But what i dont ghet is where is the mic i doubt that they recordet it direckt ( that would explane the muddy sound ).

  • I'm sure they recorded it the same way on both amps. even if they recorded it direct then thats not what it would sound like in real life. Lets face it. the overdrive tones just suck.

  • @ruffles272 I find it hard to beleave they sound that muddy, iv played way cheaper amps that soundet way bethere.

  • Me too, and the clean tones on this thing sound amazing.
