people keep saying this is an auto release... an auto release still involves an angle in the elbow, which she never had. when you actually use an auto release, then you'll know.
She is not a horrible rider. We can all use some work. she is trying to stay over the horse instead of jumping ahead. Sure this may not be the most productive way to get to this, but she is trying. she is also attempting at an automatic realese, though she could more, she is still trying to realese.
Tiny rider on a big horse! Take that into overall consideration if ya know what I mean.
Nitpicking for fun---> Too much movement on the first go. Quieter seat on the second go. If she was applying a horrible release, the horse (unless a saint!) would show displeasure. The horse is nice and quiet. Yeah, they can improve...clearly she's capable of that (better 2nd trip). She probably rides more by feel and function than consciously aiming for textbook form (why we all need lessons, lol!).
Go look up "Anne Kursinski: The Automatic Release"
THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC RELEASE USED IN HIGH LEVEL JUMPING. Watch this before you make some smart-ass comment saying this girl is awful. She has a beautiful automatic release. Geeze.
She isn't trying to get a crest release (laying up the horses neck). She's using a low automatic release which keeps the horse on a constant contact with the bit so the horse doesn't overshoot the striding and have to save himself through the grids. This is a really high level skill to have (being able to balance over a large jump and not have to rest your hands or upper body on the horse's neck. Maybe you should learn how to ride before you criticize her riding :)
This girl has no relsease! In fact, she's got her hands BEHIND the withers over the jump!!If this is an improvement her 2-point must have been HORRIBLE before
No offence or anythingg, but fist off you lower leg is pushed far too back to being jumping what looks like 3' or 3'3, this is unsafe, because the horse "could" take off. You're thoughing yourself forward to the point were you arms a stright, and down in your cuochand you have no release what soo ever. You should try jumping only 2' and try to over react your relsease, and put your surripsup a hole or 2!
Don't be so mean. I think she is trying to get better. You should watch and learn by how she begins and gets better and better. At the end she is doing better, and their are more of these videos. They are like a series. If anything, you can learn from her mistakes.
you're two point position was good, except your hands. you need to put them forward, up the horses neck to create a crest release. this will help your horse stretch its neck out without you yanking on his mouth. also your elbow need to ALWAYS be bent.

she was fine over the two first, smaller jumps...But the bigger ones, she had no release and her position was awful. I never critique on riding videos, but this is meant to be instructional. No way should ANYONE be learning from her. She still has a lot of work to do first.
OHMYGOD that rider needs to be WAY more elastic with her arms. Never in my life have i seen some one jump that high with there hands glued to there withers!!! Fucking christ! That woman shouldnt even be jumping. AT ALL im so pissed right now hahaha 0:28 wtf!
@mustluvahorse Have you ever heard of an auto release? She wasnt pulling the horse in the outh. She was following his motuh. Usually we overexaggerate our releases, she is keeping contact over the jumps and jollowing his mouth. It is so she can remain control through the grid. Some horses want to rush through it, so it was smart of her to do this auto release.

i think she's trying an automatic release...on the last jump at least. it wasn't the best auto release i've ever seen but i could still see that she was trying.
Quit over jumping. Maintain your seat and let the horse move out from under you not you move over it. And your arms are locked straight down. Eih eih eih.
if she got up its neck more over such small jumps she wouldnt be able to recover quick enough, it looked pretty darn good to me! what are you on about shouldnt be jumping this high? she wasnt doing anything wrong. she looks like a very neat and quiet rider.
