omg they really butchered the sounds of the cars in the full version. This is a fucking V8 yet it sounds like a dinky little 4 cylinder. Same with the tire screeching wtf is up with that. Should have taken it to yamaha to perfect the audio... FUCK

Fortunately most of the GT5:P cars don't sound anywhere near this bad. In fact, the M3 is probably the worst since the N/A F1 cars from GT3. It's obvious that instead of getting a proper sample to use, they just stretched the pitch way up to 8,300 RPM or whatever.

If you listen to the F430, for instance, the engine sound is SPOT ON, but it's missing the kind of harshness or growling quality from the real car's exhaust.

Probably the most accurate overall is the Integra though. Identical.

The first step to doing that would be for the staff to stop adding silly whining noises that don't exist in the real engine. I must seem like a looney posting these comments to all people that comment on the sound, but I feel your pain. I became a sound nut after I started watching videos of real cars.

I don't disagree that they really should work on the car sounds, but a car with a supercarger or turbocharger will whine a lot.

Yup you're right, but an M3 has a straight up deep grunting sounding engine. It sounds very raw, and a turbocharger whine won't take away from that. And there's no whine in this video actually I shouldn't have said whine, but it's more like the screech of an R/C toy car. lol I'm sure GT5 will make improvements though.
