@Outrun37 YES !!! I found that out when I read up on the Shakespeare authorship question. He astutely realized that the work was sophisticated, feudal in perspective, anti-democratic, and brilliant. He dismissed the Stratford myth, and correctly theorized, that it was "one of the wolfish earls so plentious in the plays themselves" The Earl of Oxford, Edward de Vere, was not identified as Shakespeare until 1920. Walt Whitman figured it out well before. CHEERS

In the '40s he became an influence to the beatnik movement. Not to say more importantly to Pablo Neruda and Federico Garcia Lorca.

For me i believe;
We are not awake unless first we understand our dreams.
In order to understand our dreams, we must understand ourselves and everyone else around us.
Only then shall the fabric of freedom and will be revealed.
The will to make dreams true.
For is it not our dreams that we want to come true?
Nice vid.

Whitman was a true American prophet, part of the same lineage as Emerson and Thoreau. Leaves of Grass is my Bible.

I noticed this guy's potential to keep my interest in what he is saying, one of the most enjoyable American poets.
