Well then come on down! WE'RE STILL HERE ! I'll buy you a drink. You'll have the best food you've ever eaten, and if you come during mardi gras, I'll throw you something! What are you waiting for?!
Great video that expresses the sadness of all of us who didn't get there before Katrina. Thank you, NMS, for reminding us of what we all lost during those terrible days.
As the writer Buffy gets the royalties for this song....yes it is a great song. Hopefully a different voice will be performing it on a new CD within the next four months or so !!!
John Stewart was an excellent singer/songwriter; member of the famous folk group The Kingston Trio from 1961-1967 before heading out on his own and writing over 500 songs. I would definitely check him out -- message me if you're interested! :-)
so who"s gonna save us this time? i don":t think it will ever happen! how can we beat all of that oil! it"s not just us. all over the world will feel this sad sad song!

What do you mean funny? If you're thinking of JON Stewart from Comedy Central, this is a different John. The John singing in this song is a great folksinger who has written over 400 songs. The Stewart you're thinking about it the one that does the Daily Show on Comedy Central. Great show, by the way! Thanks for watching my video.
I miss my old friends, especially the ones I still ain't heard from. I wish my people weren't still living in trailers. I'm tired of the ruins up and down the streets of places that just couldn't be fixed. I hate the gunshots. I hate the death. But yall better believe that I love this city and I ain't goin nowhere. WE'RE STILL HERE, AMERICA. WE'RE STILL HERE!!! Almost 3 years gone by and it feels like yesterday. Will it ever get better?
The Murders were up to 63 yesterday, and more shooting 2-day. It's sad what New Orleans is becoming. I live outside of the city and don't go there unless I have to.
Better go read the new orleans news then because crime was never this high and more people are leaving than coming back.Bad thing is the lastest thing shows it is the bussiness people leaving which will hurt the city even more.37 murders already this year not counting other crimes for a small city less than half the size of the old new orleans
People with a muder rate at 37 allready this year and more bussiness leaving the state New Orleans is not coming back.Even now a lot of people don`t know they will have to have flood and wind insurance on top of their regular insurance which is already sky high.
New orleans has always had a high murder rate, usually the highest per capita in the country. Besides, the people of New Orlenas will never let it die. Trust me on that. I lived there for 27 years.

I know the artist who wrote this song personally.
John Stewart was a member of The Kingston Trio from 1961-1967. After 1967, he started writing his own music. One of his most famous songs is "Daydream Believer", which was written for the Monkeys back in the 70's. This New Orleans song came from his most recent album "The Day the River Sang". John has written over 400 songs and is still writing today.
