I discovered this artist from a you tube comment on a lowkey music video. want to give back to those who led me to this artist :)

  • as a white bloke from the North i'm not gonna argue with a black guy from the poorer parts of London about racism and shit but don't see it this way ... intelligent lyrics though and chilled beat love it.

  • he puts more than 1 subject in his songs

  • great lyrics but most his loops don't match the same level. shame. . still the words are most important.

  • If you like guys like Akala you should hit up Beast 1333 - he is sick

  • Mad to think he is Miss.Dynamites brother. So different, Like she is commercial and he is the opposite. Big up Akala everytime!

  • @TheUnknownRemedy nah she aint commercial, far from it...dont u remember the tunes she was doing bak in da day talkin but blood dimonds an dat...her record lable didnt like dat...she refused to be the typical alecia dixon..light skin girl with beauty acting degrading..she refused..shes jus as talented as her bro...

  • such a relaxin beat reminds me of the 90s haha

  • One of the greatest rappers to date, him and Lowkey are the future of UK rap!

  • @DanielSC93 Nah mate their not da future....Their all ready raping everyone else!

  • Now they say i'm conscious, my words are positive, it's not that, too me the truth is just obvious

  • i think he meant more like a diamond in a pile of shit

  • Awesome beat, just found out about him today

  • First time listening to him ... mentally stimulating ... love it!

  • Big respect

  • FUKIN EPIC TUNE !!!

  • Speak the truth!

  • ive known you for 5mins, listened to two song of yours. And i can say you are already my favourite musician at the moment

  • @R0V11N Welcome to the club bro been listening to akala for years. Go chek out 'IMMORTOL TECHNIQUE' and 'LOWKEY'.

  • shockingly relevant lyrics even today his music personifies british urban culture more grime artists should aspire to be like akala, a very underated and talented artist no doubt about it

  • Hmmmmm which where im from is better? Akala - Where Im From, MED ft. Aloe Blacc - Where Im From, or Digable Planets - Where Im From ??? All pretty gud.

  • Too real.

  • hakman3000 has found the needle.. and isnt dissapointed..

  • @whiteboyb09118 I am not disappointed you are right, but I was being a bit more metaphorical and less literal, like as in its not easy to always find someone like Akala coz of all the mainstream music that overshadows, however when u do dig deep and find lesser known artists or artists who aren't played as much on radio/tv, yet whose content is awesome, it's overly worth it.

  • Akala needs exposure, the internet is the nuclear bomb of promotion. YOU should all start sharing his stuff, on your Facebook, Twitter and whatever else you have. Like the shit out of this comment, and copy and paste this comment into all his other videos. Let him be heard

  • "different toilets but same shit!" best definition for our corrupt government all the major parties follow their puppet masters, they dont give a shyt for the people its about profit making more wars and reduction in our living standards over the years... WAKE UP!

  • this vids been up for 4 years and its got 107k views

and vidoes liek justien biber have liek 80m i guess it shows what the worlds come to

  • u call this grime or rap mabey hip hop but this is like pop nearly and him talking for a bit and id say lowkeys da smartest uk rapper akala goes on bit headed but he aint that great

  • @MrFuckitz Obviously NOT pop you neek.

  • @furiousB17 what is it then it aint grime hip hop or rap

  • @MrFuckitz okay so he's not rapping? sure.. im pretty sure he's rapping AND if he's rapping this is a rap, jeeeez

  • @furiousB17 na it rnb if u want not rap or usher and chris brown are rappers too

  • @MrFuckitz your an Obvious neek.

  • @MrFuckitz Youngster educate yourself this isn't grime, it's a Hip Hop track. If the Boom Bap percussion pattern & looped guitar sample didn't tell u, maybe the fact he doesn't rely on a 2-line nursery rhymes scheme so teenage girls & Feltham Juves can sing along might. He's far from the best HIP HOP rapper (NOT Mainstream Rap Rapper) we got in the UK, but cuz of his sis he's exposed more, u can't knock him for being conscious. Lowkey ain't the only other UK rapper u know. Over ur head tho.

  • @MrFuckitz your a retard? go listen to justin beaber

  • If music like this was mainstream, the world would be a better place.

  • @1grjg no it wouldnt well still have people like blair, cheney, bush and the rest of the pathogen causing world wide disease. its how we are well always have these illnesses unless we cure ourselves... by spreading love, peace, respect and dignity, bro peace out from gulone lol

  • @1grjg no because if the world was a better place there would be no need for music like this. wrong way to look at it

  • @1grjg Nah. We wouldn't appreciate it so much then. It'd just be another drop in the bucket.

  • i always want 2 listen 2 this again and gain, amazing tune

  • Akala is like a needle in a haystack, hard to find but once you found him, you ain't disappointed

  • @Hakman3000 akala is a great rapper a truly poetic powerful and hopefully influential artist but... if i searched a haystack and all i found was a 'needle' .. i think i'd be dissapointed haha good thing i found this video instead

  • @Hakman3000 i don't think that's what the phrase is meant to mean, but i know what you mean.

  • @FrazerMawson Lool yaa i gave it a weird new variation but jus saying he's underground and awesome

  • @Hakman3000 no he isn't, you find a needle in a haystack and you have probably wasted an hour or so, listen to akala and you haven't wasted any time at all.

  • @samuelhatch 51 people understand what I mean without taking it too literally, its cool tho Akala is awesome let us agree ye and not have a debate pls bro

  • @Hakman3000 how would a needle excite you ?

  • @Mankz95 well if you had too look through a hay stack for a needle you would be exited that you found it fucking smart arse

  • @Hakman3000 how is that like a needle?

  • @Obsidian1392 its a cliché expression.

  • @Hakman3000 How is he like a needle? i usually don't look for needles let alone in a haystack. I could go buy a pack of them from walmart anyways, seems like a waste of time for a fucking needle. Also when i do find a needle i think where the fuck did it come from not oh my god a needle i can't believe i found a needle

  • @ProBeats213 its an expresion u nob

  • @sk8mafia57 i know its an expression what i said is called a joke. i hate people with no sense of humor and can't recognize when someone is joking.

  • @ProBeats213 it wasnt a funny joke

  • @sk8mafia57 thats cuz you have no sense of humor bruh. now get the stick out your ass then talk to me until then just shut up

  • @sk8mafia57 Cheers for backing me up bro, people need to stop whining and jus give a bit of respect to Akala's talent.

  • @Hakman3000 no problem and ye i kno hes under rated

  • someone please tell me where to get this instrumental from

  • normally ppl would set a time going "this is the best bit" or something like that. But for this song they can't BECAUSE ITS ALL AMAZING!!! and extremely true! just irritates me how the youths around be are blinded with these lies that these rappers are saying!!

  • Akala is inspiring

  • Simply amazing!

  • Or rather be talkin bollox 'bout who I be clappin'

rather be tellin the truth bout what actually happened,

most down to earth thing ever.

  • I just recently discovered Akala's music and all I can say is... WOW fucking WOW... I have found a reason to listen to Hip Hop again...

  • Actually soo sikkk

  • One time for your mind ~ signed Akala.

+1 for spitting truth-heavy lyrics vs drooling boring gun-rap.

    One.

  • I used to hate this guy, now I cant help but rate this guy. He has come from making out that England is some lethal place to talking about the actual hardships people experience and the futility of certain lifestyles.

  • anyone know the name of the instrumental?

    please get bak to me

  • 4 people can suck out!

  • @MrLaxatives looool

  • heavy!!

  • Anyone know how I can get the instrumental to the instrumental to this track?

  • Much respect for akala

  • i think ive listened to this about 50 times already xD

  • How did Akala get his name?

  • @ixWiiLLxi I can't remember.

  • @ixWiiLLxi I don't know how he got it, but it's a Buddhist term for 'not movable'

  • i just can't believe how all the people are fucking their brains with watching TV and things...

  • @TheColyTe judging by that yours is a bit under par anyway.

  • akala is a breath of fresh air. US hip-hop is dead, you don't hear people like talib kweli & immortal technique anymore & as for UK hip-hop/Grime as akala said its nonsense. this guy is the truth!

  • @LucasPimpin us hip hop is far from dead. dont listen to our radio shit.

  • @nycolombian91 our radio sucks but we got mad real artists!! just gotta keap your ear to the streets

  • @ SpamSpu in Germany and other countrys it is the same

one of 10 rappers are real and the other talking bullshit

  • akala i just keep on discovering tune after chooooon!!

  • The sample of the Banshees-Spellbound is subtle! Works so well though!! Glasgow gig on thursday. Akala up up up!

  • It's so refreshing to see a rapper wear his reputation in the quality of his words rather than the chains around his neck

  • @polkin56 one of the best, the trio is Akala, Lowkey and Black the Ripper

  • PROPPA tune

  • He's right about history, most stuff spewed out in the education shit is absolute BOLLOX, the power's that be only want us to know what they want us to know.

  • right on!!

  • @abcaston Uneducated tell my BSc that, And maybe I should go to South Africa and bring Apartheid back as cunts like you make it seem like a good idea.

  • Has any one got the lyrics for this?

  • Best and smarterst UK rapper full stop!

    Akala all day !

  • I need the sample of that coz i know i heard it in other great song

Im searching so long and cant find it. knows only that was english and french lyrics and "je t'aime" in the refrain

    anybody can helps me plz??

  • i wish i was this intelligent! akala been blessed with talent

  • Akala is good but come on to say racial equility hasn't improved in 50 years is just ridiculous a real poor message. Look at positive discrimination, affirmitive action etc, laws condemming white people for racial abuse but it doesn't work the other way around. If anything the current white generation is stigmatized by what there grandparents did, it would be like calling all Germans nazis in this day and age.

  • i like akala, but hes goin on like black people are dead hard done by,well thats a load of shit because every1 in the lower an working class r gettin shit on. for fucks sake lad tories r in power

  • @hanlythegrass Lol thats exactly what he's not saying twat

  • backing track is Siouxsie and the Banshees "Spellbound"

  • British rap over American rap anyday.

  • @destinystruth over most american rap.

There are a few that we dont here about em, same way they wont hear about akala and others.

Check out The roots. Rap band. Fucking poetic, honest, they actually lived/live the struggle most rappers talk of. One thing they're known for saying is "Most people glorify the streets. We prefer to care for it". Try the album "how i got over" and "rising down". I can listen to bost albums in that order again and again without skipping a song.

  • If someone cold post me the lyrics of this song, I'd be grateful!

  • Fucking genius this guy.

  • ahhaha why are guys beefing on the internet its degrading

  • Cant stop playing this, something mesmerizing about the beat and of course with Akala you cant go wrong! 1 Of The UKs Best.

  • this is awesome and u have to respect his lyrics but jay z has great lyrics as well. 2 talented men and then theres luda. While i like some of it hes not the same as these 2

  • @every1loveshibs lol? jay's are painfully shallow. you can't compare him to akala.

  • Man listened to all sorts of rapper im a big eminem fan think hes one of the best but akala is by far the best i have heard lyrically

  • Truth! Represent.

  • I just heard of this guy 10 mins ago (mentioned on lowkey's sb tv vid). I don't think he's better then Lowkey or Tech, but The Edge, Reckoner and Where I'm From, have moved him to my top third favourite rapper. Maybe after another 10 mins he will move further up.

  • Great rapper but im sick of people in civilized countries talking about crime and hard lives, theirs people living in countries where they couldnt get out of the struggle if they tried, atleast everyone in the UK and USA has options. I'd love to see Akala spend a year in Etheopia, hed touchdown in england and be kissing the dirty floor of the ghettos he calls hard living. All gang violence is self inflicted by cocks acting hard and if you dont like the ghetto then move out the ghetto

  • @SamHain1031666 listen to akala f64, he talks about how the ghettos here aren't that bad compared to third world countries

  • @SamHain1031666 he's been to the real ghettos in brazil and survived i'm sure he'd give you a run for your money.

  • @alexv2k7 hahahaha you make me laugh, the way you say hes been to the real ghettos in brazil, AND SURVIVED lol. Do you realize that tourists go to the Brazilian shanty every day?, ive been there myself buddy, not to mention Korea which in my opinion is far worse than Brazil, yeah, ive been all over

  • @SamHain1031666 But who really cares. you like him or you don't

  • Immortal Technique is on another level.

Akala is good, but not that good.

  • akala is really good and definately doesnt get the credit he deserves but he isnt the best lyrically. People that are atleast as good, possiby better.(eminem, biggie smalls, ludacris(at times), drake, and jay-z.) too name a few of the famous ones. Chino, krs-one, and tech n9ne are also pretty good but not quite as well known. look em up. you might like it

  • @PakelikaMayne

    Ludacris? Jay-fucking-Z? Whack-ass sellouts!

  • @Solkovsky hah. that shows how ignorant you are. if you think luda and jay-z arent lyrically talented ur an idiot and probably havent heard ANY of their original shit from back in the day. so keep your idiotic fucking commentsto yourself.

  • @PakelikaMayne

No it shows you have shit taste in rap. Dre all the way, and if it's not West Coast and it's American, it's almost always commercial shit. Jay-Z sucks balls, Ludacris has appeared alongside Justin Bieber - wtf more can I say?

  • @Solkovsky haha. great, anotehr one of those west/east coast cry baby motherfuckers. all of you are pathetic. it doesnt matter what part of a country your from when it comes to rap and you guys are insistent that it does. so jsut for that matter your an idiot. jay-z actually is pretty good if u listened to his shit which you dont. and ludacris used to be alright but as i said before which u kindly ignored, he has been "tainted" by the mainstream tastes in music. So learn to read plz jackass.

  • @PakelikaMayne

Face it, you like commercial rap. I don't care what you listen to; some people listen to shit, it doesn't affect me, I'm just saying it's whack since that's my opinion. The part of the country matters because all the good rap comes from Death Row, and that's West Coast. Disagree if you want, I don't give a shit.

P.S. When did you say shit about being "tainted"?

  • @Solkovsky is biggie commercial rap? what about cypress hill? or snoops shit like "gin and juice". i dnt think so. but because its not Death Row it isnt good. which is why i feel bad for you because u dont judge music for what its worth. you judge it on where it comes from. Which is why i hate arguing with people about this shit because you have to be ignorant to start shit on youtube with reasonings like yours. nuff' said. and I said he was "tainted". you werent mentioned once in that sentence.

  • beast

  • Who downrates akala? Imbeciles, go and buy into that lil wayne shit

  • akala is too sick he is the best mc with out a doubt he shud be big, but naa they wud raver make sum dum twins or a fat hairy lady famous -.- pisses me off tbh.. but akala is so sick evry 1 knws that

  • hhahahh best rapper ever lyrics r geniouuuussssss lolololol this cool beans

  • Akala is easily the smartest and truest UK artist. American + UK rappers and mc's are talking about doing murder like its something good. Old school hip hop was about respecting yourself and now what is it?

  • I agree but still check lowkey he's another uk artist keeping it real.

  • @SpamSpu yah akala is the only rapper i listen to now he da fuckin best cause he da realiest

  • @SpamSpu Lowkey too!!!!

  • @SpamSpu Lowkey? immortal technique, jedi mind tricks,

  • @SpamSpu your mislead buddy, non mainstream UK and American artists are as good as Akala too, he is among the best. JME(uk), jay electronica (american), devlin (uk), mikill pane(uk), akir (american) , immortal technique(american), nas(american), wiley (uk), typhoon(netherlands), diabolic (american). many others too, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

  • @LpxMusic hey, here are some guys you might like if you havnt heard of them, Classified (Canadian), D-Sisive (Canadian)

  • @SpamSpu couldnt have said it any better!

  • "We're strong beyond measure,

    Ask your professor,

How do you make a diamond?

A billion years of of pressure,

And a diamond is found where?

    At first in da rough,

So no matter where we're at,

there is a diamond inside of us,"

    Just wow...

  • @Trophy1990 Akala's New album DOUBLETHINK out now!!! Support independent UK music and more importantly independent thought!!!

  • @Trophy1990 sssssssssssssssso tru

  • What's horrible? I don't know if its possible here...........

  • This guy used to go to my secondary school and so did his sister, Kingsley Morgan & Naomi Morgan.

  • you mans best not be calling akala immigrant fam he best UK hip hop out there bruv, not going fockin mainstream like dem grime artists too give mans respect for sick songs, see im live and den tell me he aint top drawer.

  • man speaks sense

  • the reason immagrants come to uk coz its the best!!!

  • u should gotta rep your country and your area till da end..

  • yh i do rep but it dont mean im proud of wer im from

  • You are a fuckin prick.. England is the greatist country... Thats y so many people come to live here

  • i dont understand y u wud think its the greatest country, high crime rate, teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, inherinant racism and zenophobia. i was raised in england and ive seen and grown up wit alot of bad things

  • But that shit happens all over the world theres no escaping it..... and that dont change the fact that England is the greatist country
