I think it would have been cute at the end if the two kids had lifted milk cartons to their lips and drunk deeply, leaning backwards, in a nod to the action with the brandy snifters in the original play and movie.
@jackmanslightpepper I remember that, but I'd never really heard of the soaps they were parodying. The only title I'd heard of was All My Schoolchildren (All My Children), but the others went over my head. Was the segment supposed to be W
Was the segment meant to be "Love in the Afternoon" or something?
I never cared for this clip. Noone would usually sit with me during lunch when I was in school, and I would be stuck eating by myself. I felt like I stood out. In fact, some guys told me to go away.
that sucks dude Im sorry :o( Those people probably weren't worth your time anyhow. Kids can be very cruel. especially now a days. my 1/2 brother was in on the school bus and he was cryin cause it was the death anniversary of his mom she passed away 3 years prior, and the kid was making fun of him asking him why he was cryin like a baby, and he told him why, and the kid said " your mom probably didn't like you thats why she killed herself. and she did commit suicde but not because of him.
The girl that says "Yeah I'm definitely going to the movies" sounds like Mokey from Fraggle Rock! Doesn't she? And the guy singing sounds like Dr. Van Neuter, kind of.
It was just an observation. I thought they were great performing that number together as well and I thought it would've tied the clip in a nice bow if he would've asked her if she wanted to go movies with him and his friends. that's all. I don't see what the issue is here, other than I loved the music (like you) and wished the clip had been a little longer.
no worries. I like it partly because of the parody aspect. Sesame Street in the first couple of decades parodied a lot of stuff and it was always very cute and, of course, educational
I actually haven't seen pre-school musical, but I'd probably like it better than its original "inspiration." I'll have to check it out, eh? :) i like the "first" parodies as I'm older and can "get it" fully. In the early years Sesame Street did more parodies of musicals and plays like "the taming of the shoe" and "Waiting for Elmo." I favorite most of that stuff because it was funny but had adult intellectual pieces too.
when i watch this video, it kinda reminds me of my high school days, when you're afraid to even go near the man your attracted to, hahaha, i love this song...

I think since I'm autistic, I don't really sit by anybody during lunch. I think it's because autistic people sometimes like being alone.

After that musical display I was kind of bummed that all that they said was hi to each other I was hoping for more dialogue.

Why are you telling me this? What you said does'nt have anything to do with what I said.

Sesame Street still does parodys, like Meal or No Meal or Pre-School Musical.

You can see Pre-School Musical on YouTube. Just search for it. I saw those Taming of the Shoe and Waiting for Elmo sketches too!
